I spent 6 years in Charleston, SC and I have a very good understanding of Low Country cooking. I moved to the Upstate 12 years ago and have not found one restaurant that comes close to the recreation of the sea food offerings from the low country…. Until now… This is a hidden gem in Mauldin with authentic family recipes, homemade spices and sauces. The Shrimp Po’ Boy was insane, shrimp was cooked perfectly… perfectly… they were juicy, crunchy with the perfect amount of breading that coated the shrimp and did not fall off. The roll was toasted with homemade remoulade sauce and fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Fried okra is hard to master. It’s a slimy vegetable by nature, so batter often slips off during the frying process. Not these, crunchy breading all around with amazing spices in the breading. The BBQ baked beans were simple, no fluff and straight forward that actually tasted like tangy BBQ. What really blew my mind was the creativity of the “South Carolina Beignet”… sweet hush puppies in a warm honey glaze and covered in powdered sugar… just wow… such a unique dessert offering that is perfectly inline with the concept. I got the pleasure of meeting the owner, Don who greeted every guest with respect and thanked every customer for coming in. You can truly see the pride of ownership in this restaurant. I can’t believe I finally tried this place after 12 years, but I am officially hooked. One last thing to note is how quickly the food was prepared and served. All around 5 stars, great work by Don and his hardworking staff! #Buy-local-be local

My experience at this restaurant left me thoroughly impressed, especially with the Shrimp Po-Boy sandwich. Despite the common tendency for fried food to lack flavor, the sandwich was made to perfection and well-seasoned, providing a satisfying taste with every bite. The staff were friendly and accommodating, creating a welcoming atmosphere that felt like family from the moment I walked in. Seafood lovers who appreciate top-quality cuisine will enjoy this place. The vibrant and family-oriented atmosphere inside the restaurant adds to its charm. I highly recommend checking out their reasonably priced lunch specials, as well as their larger dinner-sized meals that provide good value. Additionally, the crinkle-cut fries were cooked to perfection, which is another notable point to consider. Overall, if you are looking for a great seafood experience, I highly recommend this restaurant and its Shrimp Po-Boy sandwich.

Was visiting the Greenville area from Washington, DC and a friend suggested a seafood restaurant called Low Country Shrimper... At first, I was interested in the name bc I'm originally from the Low Country of SC so I was eager to see what they had to offer... To my surprise it SUPER FANTASTIC FOOD AND GREAT service and even more surprise to learn the owner is a 30+ year old friend I hadn't seen since 1993 at SMC.... We had a great time catching up and it was indeed a pleasure seeing him walk around to EACH table in the restaurant asking each customer if they were okay... Wow, is the only word that comes to mind to describe/witness the pure customer he offers!!!!! Super fantastic and I will definitely return when in the area FOR SURE...

The food: I will start out by saying we did really enjoy our food. My daughter got the baby shrimp basket with fries. (they really are tiny shrimp) but she enjoyed it. My wife ordered the low country boil and enjoyed it. For $20 i feel like it was a little under budget but i guess like anything else, prices are rising. She also enjoyed her food. I ordered the seafood platter and was very pleased with everything from the food to the sides. I had the catfish, shrimp, oysters, and scallops. Everything was cooked great, but i do wish you had an option to have Cajun or add spice to it. So as far as the food it was great!

The service: Everyone was very friendly and very attentive. It did seem like they had a hard time remembering what you ordered and missed a couple of items for a lot of the other tables including ours.( When told about the missing items.. they were fast about getting the items that was missing to you). My biggest problem was the wait time. I am all for waiting for good food, and i fully understand that when its cooked when ordered it will take longer than usual. That being said we ordered around 7:30 and did not receive our food until around 8:35. Pretty long wait for us, especially with hungry kids. It also was a Similar wait for other customers. They may have been short staffed as with everyone else around having the same problems. We will be back to try again, hopefully with a little better results, but again i will say the food passed expectations. I left full, with food left on the table. If wait time and service issues wasn't there we would have gave it 5 stars. I will update the...

Co-worker always raved about the food here. Soo with that being said..1st time customer to LCS and my verdict is still out due the fact; the hallway leading to the restroom was very slippery, a female employee pushed open kitchen's door outward into hallway, striking me as I walked by, checked my 2pcs fish & shrimps order before leaving and noticed I didnt have my 10pcs shrimp. Im already a little irked about employee striking me with the door. Although, she apologized BUT PLZ use common sense when exiting a swinging door outwards into hallway where customers may be walking by. Soo, when I informed & showed the cashier that order was incomplete AND the cashier took ENTIRE order back to the cook, sever or whomever she was in that kitchen with the attitude, stated that I" didnt have no shrimp." Not exactly sure why the entire order was necessary because I had not left & had proof of receipt in hand. Requested money back from error made on the behalf of cook, sever or whomever she was in that kitchen with the attitude. PLUS defintely didnt want any foods that disappears from sight & goes back to kitchen. BUT cook, server or whomever she was in that kitchen with the attitude,THREW not PLACED 10pcs of shrimper on top of orignal order. I did informed Don I was not completely satisfied with 1st time experience there especially when the mistake is on the merchant's behalf. Employees need additional housekeeping, saftey hazards, customer service skills, when working in an establishment & dealing...
