Francisco's Mexican Fresh-taurant!
Dining a la carte tonight, that is, alone without my wingwoman Babelicious Fab Fiancée! When I'm forced to such extreme measures(LOL) I must ensure that every moment is valued and treasured. Each dining decision must count! Well, at least I should enjoy the meal and the moment, without having my exotic beauty to gaze upon.......and I found that at Francisco's!
After reading the reviews, I felt confident I was in for a treat. Thanks fellow reviewers!
It was 7:45 on a tepid autumn evening. Typically tropical. Slipping through the strip mall portal, I was immediately accepted and seated. I noted just a few other tables taken at this time. Lending to a nice, quiet, enjoyable solitude with forthcoming food....
Ah! That omnipresent Mexican delight of Chips & Salsa was presented for my nibbling titillation. And nibble I did! With great titillation! I found the holy grail of appetizing pleasure. The chips were perfectly crisp with just the right hint of salt and no greasy aftertaste. The salsa? I now realize how this humble onion, celantro and tomato treat could be co-named with a seductive and sultry dance....I could feel the beat, the compas... They also provide a small plate of refried beans to dredge your chips through. Interesting touch, I'm hooked!
While tastebuds eagerly teased, I opted for the combo meal with 3 choices. My choices were a tamale, a burrito and a chimichanga. I was soon to discover, Excellent choices!
Each tasty morsel provided a mouthful of pizzazz. Fresh ingredients cannot hide. No need for condiments or additional salt to bring out that earthy indulgent flavor. Wow! I found myself ooing and ahhing at each bite. (another reason I was thankful the place wasn't packed!)...
So there you have it. The unabashed and wholehearted story of my premiere introduction to Francisco's Mexican Fresh-taurant!
Please tell them John, and his BFF sent ya! And be...
Read moreStopped by around 2-230 for lunch with a couple of other families. This was a new spot to all of us but we all were very pleased with the food. However, we had believed we ordered off the lunch menu that is advertised from 11-3. We received our meals and enjoyed them. When we went to check out we were charged dinner prices on all of the meals. After trying to get some explanation for the up charge in price or the mishap in what was ordered, the restaurant took a few dollars off each meal to try to reconcile but it still was not the lunch special we ordered and more expensive than expected. So as first time customers, I am not sure what to expect from the establishment. We were the only people in the restaurant and we had to get up to find servers to refill drinks. We have no idea what the difference between lunch and dinner menu items are other than the prices and we have experienced that the prices are not transparent from the menu to what you can be charged for. The food may have been acceptable and the atmosphere cozy, but I am definitely uncomfortable with the pricing issues and the fact we came in for lunch at lunchtime ordered lunch specials and was overcharged, the service was mediocre. But if they would have just fixed the checks to the lunch specials they would have still gained there money in a tip. Definitely will...
Read moreNormally one of my favorite places to eat, Saturday was a disappointment. I came for shrimp enchiladas one more time before heading back to Virginia and we were quickly seated, given our menus, chips and salsa and drinks. When it came time to place our orders, I was only then informed they had NO SHRIMP! That would have been good information to pass along when you seated us and handed out the menus!! So I had to make another choice rather quickly, as we had been seated some time before the waiter came back to get our orders, and I picked the Carne Asada Burrito $17.79 Flour tortilla filled with sliced skirt steak. Topped with sauce, melted cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, and guacamole. Served with rice and beans. The steak was tiny pieces of inedible, dried out chewy stuff! I would have taken a picture, but I'd forgotten to bring my phone. I really wish I'd made a different choice for my last meal here, or been able to have my favorite Enchiladas de Camaron $16.79 Two enchiladas filled with sauteed shrimp, onions, and tomato. Topped with queso dip. Served with rice and beans. You win some, you lose some, and this was...
