Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Memphis

My husband and I experienced the worst customer service at this location. I asked for strawberry in a smoothie and blueberry was added. When he read my order back to me I thought he said strawberry. So I asked for it to be remade and he said it would be extra and proceeded to take my smoothie to add strawberry in it so then it would have blueberry and strawberry and honestly would be even worse. Then I said no I don’t want that and he took it as throw the whole thing away. So he threw it away and then I asked for a new smoothie and he was going to make me pay for the original smoothie and a new smoothie so I asked for a refund and he said no. So then I had to get my husband to talk to him and he finally gave us a refund. I will never come back to this location. I frequent the location in Cordova and have always had great service. I’ve worked in the food industry and I’m not a hard customer to please. I almost didn’t ask for it to be remade but I didn’t think it would be such an ordeal. It really was an awful start to the day. We just wanted a good smoothie and some breakfast. But instead was accosted and felt as if I should have learned my lesson. We paid for two $9 smoothies and two breakfast wraps which are awfully small for what it is and lacking in bacon. I much prefer the Cordova location. I do not like leaving bad reviews but with this kind of interaction, it needed to be reviewed. Is it really going to affect costs if you guys have to just remake a smoothie or would you rather have bad customer interactions? Really think about the...

This was the worst experience I have ever had at any tropical smoothie cafe. It says on my receipt that Kandarp P took our order and everything was fine until we got to the window. We asked for a smoothie at the speaker to be made with stevia and ordered a few other items. He did not repeat our order back to us so we just had to hope he heard everything and got it correct. When we got to the window we noticed the sticker didn’t say it was made with stevia and we mentioned it to the person. He quite literally rolled his eyes, shook his head and said, “no you didn’t say that”. We were just taken aback because I have never had someone tell me what I said was wrong when we did in fact say we wanted it made with stevia. Like we were so pleasant to the person the whole time and for him to get such an attitude with us for him getting our order being wrong was just uncalled for. He took the smoothie back but I’m pretty sure he gave us back the same smoothie with just the sticker taken off. He didn’t say anything to us when he handed it back he just rolled his eyes. Like if you can’t handle a mistake that you have made and can’t own up to it maybe DON’T be in customer service and learn to repeat orders back to people. I was a fellow employee here & I had to quit the job recently due to transportation problems, so today i was able to go and pick up my check and the manager which is Neal had a real bad attitude with me & the first thing he said was “u can’t come to work but u can come & pickup a check” then proceeded to curse at me & he wouldn’t bring me my check at all then he threatened me & wouldn’t let me leave, i was repeatedly telling him he doesn’t know my situation & he was discriminating me & just talking crazy. Mind u im 17 years old & he was acting like this then he threw my check at me & started arguing with my auntie causing a hug scene, i do not recommend working here or eating here cause their food is contaminated they don’t wash their hands they discriminate etc. & plus Neal doesn’t like to work around anybody’s schedule i told him i was in school & he proceeded to give me early hours then would leave me on read when i texted him about my availability than would lie and say i didn’t let him know about it, he’s rude he takes advantage of the younger black employees & customers.
