Ooof I hate to do negative reviews; so... so, we are walking in Wynwood; and I hear Rock music; I think; that would be a good idea next time my business partners are in Miami; get in; my wife and and I buy a drink; tip 50% to make sure the bartender likes me; we start drinking while a band rehearses. A bouncer or security person approached us; stating it was an event (paid I guess); my wife and I start thinking of paying the fee; I tell the staff member I'm going to finish my drink and leave; all good. Then this person part of "security" with glassy eyes approached us and said we had to leave; I said yes; absolutely; we are finishing our drinks and we are going to leave; we hear back; "is there a problem sir?" we respond no at all; we are going to leave; and "chug" our drinks; at this point forget about business partners and bringing good money to the place. We need to leave thru the bar; a very nice person is guarding the door; I make a comment about this person; he acknowledges and apologizes for the strange behaving person; next thing; this guy is following us; my wife gets upset; I asked her to leave the place; the guy is still following; we get nervous and start walking out; he is still behind us saying something we didn't understand; at this point we wanted out; people is looking at us... we get out of the establishment; he is still saying things we didn't understand; a drunk guy start intervening; we are out. Spoke to another person at the entrance door who was very understanding. I try to call the manager to express my concern; the phone posted in google is a number out of service. As it is clear; I cannot give any rating but one star to a business that has people working under the influence of who knows what (I really hope he was; because the alternative is worst), and with no checks and balances. Final tally; ruined afternoon; never going back; would not recommend to anybody; way better options in the neighborhood; with no random accostment. In my opinion; it is the management fault for hiring a kid with problems; and therefore it is a reflection of the way they manage the business. Will...
Read moreI must say I was impressed with the idea of not having to deal with servers and just scan the menu and paying online. That was great! However, myself and my 3 friends who are all black we just wanted to do something different on a Tuesday night. Well let me tell you we should have stayed home. We were accused of not closing out our bill. But let’s all remember you have to pay for what you want before hand. We were chased down the street as we were just casually walking to our cars by a server who refused to offer her name and a security guard who could barely even keep up. But let’s be clear, this wasn’t even our server... so she say hey guys it looks like you forgot to close out one of your bills your server sent me out here. So let get this clear our server couldn’t come out to get us if she thought we didn’t pay? So it already seemed sketchy. We were confused so we said what was the bill? We accumulated 3 bills in our 1.5 -2 hour span of being there and we had the receipt for all. So she tells us a 2 slices of pizza and 2 drinks. What made it worse was when we asked them let got review the camera because we never got any food. They completely ignore that. She just insisted that our bills that we provided wasn’t enough proof. She threw racial slurs and told us since we were so broke that she just pay our bill. I will be sure to take this to social media and my lawyer because this clearly unexceptionable and clearly has something against blacks. I would not...
Read moreWent for Nerd Nite which they host every second Thursday of the month.
This talk was about' "Why your beer tastes like 💩," "Cryptography," and "Killing Bambi's Mom: the need for morality and existential crises in children's stories."
All talks were interesting and engaging. All around good time and quite educational.
The only problem was sound. With people talking due to not being interested with the presentations, it made it difficult to hear presenters and individuals with questions at the end.
Other than that drinks run pretty steep with your Red Stripe and lighter lagers/pilsners at $6, anything with a slightly higher %ABV was $7, like the Dog fish head Sour. Specialty drink with corresponding location on self determined prices with Gramps Mule with Vodka, $12.
After reading the reviews I had to try their raved about pizza. So we got a slice of Bianca and a Hawaiian. The wait was decent, at a price of $9.25. At least from my experience with the Hawaiian, I've had better hand made Brooklyn style pizzas. Just to say the least, pizza crust isn't suppose to make your jaw cramp.
Anyways, we'll definitely be back for the science talks or maybe even present our own scientific topic....
