I placed an order at 12:08 PM was told it'd be ready in 15 so I get 14 min later. I was not greeted, several waitress saw me walk in (first timer) no visable sign of a pick up area. I finally politely asked a server if she knew where I can pick up to go order. She said she'd go to the back and check on it (this was at about 12:40PM) never came back to update me. I waved another waitress down and politely asked if she can go check on my order she seemed stressed out said they are short handed. About 7 min later the first waitress come with my food apologizes and say sorry they had just finished getting my food ready. I work 3 min down the road when I got to work my food was not warm but cold and didn't taste so fresh.... now I am not complaining about the "we're short on employees" services more of the horrible communication. I'd understand if I was told over the phone "we're short handed your order will be ready in 30-40min". I called back to let them know seems like the same waitress that handed me my order is the one I placed the order with she's the one that gave me the ETA & also looked to see what time I called to place the order..... you're telling me my order sat there for almost an hour before being handed to me? She said I'd get a refund, no refund has been received...

My wife and I wanted to try somewhere new and we chose Gerardo's. We both shared the queso flameado, which was cooled off from where it had been sitting in the back waiting to be delivered. The service needed help. Not sure of they were short handed or what, but our waitress wasn't very attentive, and couldn't multitask. We had to ask for limes 3 times before we ever got any. No chips, or silverware when we got our appetizer, and it took awhile for us to get our food. The people that showed up next to us a half hour later, got their food the same time we did. Her skillet was sizzling as mine wasn't. The queso flameado was cold and not what we expected. It's melted grated cheese, not liquid queso as we thought, was ok. The meat was tender and flavorful but that's it. My kid had the grilled cheese, which I was impressed by how it looked and the amount of tasty fries that came with it. My wife and I shared the tacos al carbon thinking they would be street taco like tacos. They were 2 burritos served with rice, guac, and charro beans. I'd come back and give them another shot, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to. The food was ok, but the service needed help. We were the 2nd to last table to leave...

My family has gone to Gerardo's for many years. Normally a great experience, but Saturday night (12-12) that was not the case. We were seated at a table next to a large group of young people who were very loud & drinking heavily. One of the young men at that table declared very loudly that they were under age drinking & our youngest daughter who is 18 graduated with one of the girls at the table. Other tables asked to be moved due to the yelling, cussing & the boys chanting at the girls to chug their drinks. It is my opinion that the server was aware of the ages as he seemed to know some of them. My husband asked to speak to the manager (who of course couldn't be found) so he spoke with another employee. This employee brushed off our complaint & didn't act like he cared that they were serving minors. A situation like this can get out of hand & end up costing the restaurant dearly. Unfortunately this isn't the first time we have experienced a bar like atmosphere in this location. I doubt we will go back after they care more about catering to large bar tabs & weren't interested in the concerns of long time...

Excellent food and great service. The chips are thin and crispy. Two different types of salsa were served- both delicious. The portions are huge. The asado plate was filling. Tender chunks of meat. The cheese enchilada, rice and refried beans were tasty. Also comes with your choice of 3 flour or corn tortillas. The tacos al carbon were excellent- very tender meat. The borracho beans, rice, pico de gallo and guacamole round out the dish. The sopapilla was hot, fluffy and perfectly sugared. Check out their menu online for all items. They have lunch specials and a full bar.

Have eaten here twice and I have to say that both times I've been impressed in terms of both quality of service and food, and cleanliness. Food is proceed fairly for the portions given. The staff from the Greeter, to the Servers, to the Bussers, all are very professional and courteous. This place has a classic Tex-Mex feel that makes you feel at home. When you've grown up in a small country town, little places like this make all the difference when you are away from home. I would definitely recommend this place to others for any occasion.
