Good location, friendly staff. I'm off of work mid-afternoon and will occasionally stop here on my way home -- it's usually pretty dead around that time but it makes it easy to get in and out, and there's always good choices for pizza. Not overly large inside but there are several tables if you want to eat in. If you've been inside a Mesa location before, they're all pretty similar -- definitely a rock club sort of vibe with minimal decor and lots of posters for local shows and events on the wall. Not fancy by any means but they're never dirty, and prices are fair -- plus the pizza is always fantastic. I've had a good chunk of the menu and while I definitely have preferences, I don't think there's anything on the menu that's actually bad. Parking is on-street and sometimes a pain, but that's typical for this area -- at least if you go around the time I do, there are usually still spots on that side of Lake. Good place to hit up for a take-out slice or two of fun pizza, and an even better place to stop in if you're in the area at a night or on the weekend as they have...
Read moreAmazing staff, always attentive, fair/respectful and personable. The pizza is also lit! If you don't like the slices that they have on hand at the time just order one in advance via phone from their online menu. It might seem expensive for a large specialty pizza compared to Domino's or whatever but you can do half and half and the pizzas are GIGANTIC like wow! Plus the toppings they have are unique and seriously every pizza I've gotten there I like. They have meat and non- meat/vegan options for you when you choose to buy a whole pizza otherwise they still serve what's on that menu but what's out in the display is the options you have if you were just to walk in. Prices are fair cuz the slices are huge. They support local artists and all the staff are great. They care about people and do their work in a timely manner. This is definitely a staple for me whenever I'm living in the uptown area. P.s. they have delivery now...
Read moreI’m hesitant to write this because I don’t want people to buy all of my favorite pizza, but Matt is the man. A while back he made a suggestion to try the Thai pizza, and it became my favorite pizza ever. I told everyone who asked me for food recommendations to go to Mesa, and ask if they had their Thai pizza. Tonight I called ahead and asked if there was any. Matt picked up the phone and told me there was a whole pie of it. I biked over straight from work, had a phenomenal time chatting with Matt about life, bought the entire pie, and then biked it 4 miles home. STILL the best pizza I’ve ever had. My buddy said he understood now why I wouldn’t shut up about it. Then I called Mesa AGAIN to ask Matt for re-heating temperature recommendations. He kindly obliged me, and now tonight has been an epic, long-essay review worthy experience. Thank you Matt for the great recommendations and...
