I will say the food was amazing. I had the Chicken Jalferazi and my wife had the Chicken Curry. For appetizers we had a thermos of black tea, trio na'an, and Delhi Samosa Chatpat. I love spicy food and as the server so graciously told me, there are three levels of heat; low, medium, and regret it tomorrow! I thought that was hilarious.
I believe her name is Priya (not sure if that is how you spell her name). She was so friendly and welcoming. She answered every question we had about different menu items. She did not rush us and allowed us to take our time. She was also highly attentive to our needs. I appreciate kind people with positive demeanors.
The na'an was warm and full of flavor and made fresh. You could tell the food was made to order. I mean I have had my share of Indian cuisine and if you have eaten Indian cuisine before, you know it varies depending on the region of India it comes from, there are variances in style, presentation, and taste. The curry was not overpowering and the sauce was bold and flavorful. The chicken in both dishes was moist and mmmmm so good.
I should mention there is a full bar with high quality spirits and beer. There is a hookah lounge on site with a large fire pit to keep you warm on those cool nights. Do not worry, the hookah lounge and restaurant are separated, so no concerns about smoke wafting around while you are trying to enjoy a nice dinner.
The chef (owner) personally addressed us to ensure that we enjoyed the food and we are thankful for that. We know it is not easy running a business, let alone preparing food that satisfies your customers desires. We will be back again, no doubt about it. When you find a good spot, you...
Read moreTL;DR; Don’t waste your time at this restaurant, they serve you ready to eat frozen food / mediocre curry. Stay hungry than spoil you tummy with the food. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
We were at 17 mile drive and around 845 this was the only Indian place that was open and headed to the same despite it’s less than 4 star reviews
When we entered we saw corona banners everywhere and got confused if it was the same. The server confirmed it was indeed the same place
May be we were lucky customers , as soon as we came it there were 6-8 more folks walk in and then 6 more. There was just 1 server and one more guy (I assume he did the cooking ?)
The server had no idea about Indian food for sure. We ordered Garlic Nan , Vegetable Biriyani , Shahi paneer and Vegetable Curry.
The Biriyani had oil floating , it appeared it’s more like a premade Biriyani that was heated and served.
The curry’s tasted okay (again looked like some prepped mix and they added vegetables and heated the same and served ) The Nans again not fresh , one was burnt too The Biriyani did not have Raita and we asked and the server was like I know it comes with Raita but they did not give me.
Overall go here if you want to have ready to eat food served you or some mediocre curry.
I guess most people would still end up in this place as other places close by 9.
My suggestion is it’s okay to be hungry than eat at this place.
I HIGHLY WONT...
Read moreWe came here on a Saturday night and it was completely empty, which was a bit concerning at first but we decided to try it anyway and we are very glad we did. This place is a sleeper! The Lamb Vindaloo was better than any of the Indian food I’ve had in San Francisco. They made everything to order. The Tandoori Chicken was great with excellent flavor and the garlic naan had good texture. Not sure why this place doesn’t have more business but you should help change that. Come eat here. It’s legit! I’d add photos but we torn through everything before thinking about that part so enjoy this close up of the remaining Chicken (we planned to...
