2 stars for personable staff, 1 star for serving sizes and decent cooked food. My husband and I have both eaten and served oysters globally and were never served a raw oyster with a creamy texture full of waste, normally those would never make the tray. The oysters are shucked right in front of you at the bar which is nice, but they literally just open them. They were lazy about severing the muscle, I had to use my fork to sever and flip (which they don't do) most of my oysters. There were bits of sand and broken shells in a few, so I had grit in my mouth a few times, because they don't bother to clean it out (sometimes they did) but they seemed very much in a rush when shucking, like it was a speed shucking contest. It wasn't busy, and I'm willing to wait for a properly shucked tray of oysters. Some of my oyster liquor was cloudy/milky which isn't a fresh oyster. They weren't bad enough to not eat but I left one on my tray and spat out the over expanded creamy one full of mostly black waste. If they had flipped it, they would've seen that and wouldn't have served it to me, I would hope anyway.
Lastly, I asked if they return the oyster shells back to their beds. Their house oysters they had on sale were absolutely massive, took at least 4,000 years to spawn something that large and would do wonders for restoring the oyster beds, to know most is going to some lady's oyster crafting project and the rest is going in the landfill made my husband and I note we won't be back. If we're going to consume, we should consume responsibly and at least do the bare minimum that every other creature that eats oysters do, and throw them back in the ocean to continue the life cycle and sustain both the environment and our eating habits.
Fun Fact: The Hudson river in NYC is seeing Humpback whales again for the first time in 100 years due largely to cleaning efforts and oysters being reintroduced to the bay and cleaning the waters (oysters are water filters) after all the oysters in the bay were eaten and never returned. #EatResponsibly...
Read moreVery strange dynamic where the bartender tells you where to sit and you can't choose your seat. Next I felt very rushed after ordering a drink, as they were very pushy about putting in a food order and did not like when I told them I was not ready to order food and wanted to enjoy some of my drink first. Then when I let them know I was ready to order they were annoyed. I started with fresh oysters, they had 8 varieties to choose from so I ordered one of each and you could tell that also annoyed them. Next the oysters came out in a by bucket and sat on the counter near the bar top for over 15 minutes before Jason came over to shuck them. When I asked him if they were on ice for that period of time I got an eye roll and a "they're still cold, feel them". When I shook my head he said with an attitude, "I can get you new ones" and I responded, "please, and thank you" you could tell he was pissed. The oysters were ok, even the next batch he claimed came right out of ice were closer to room temp than cold. In my opinion that is unacceptable. Next I ordered the crab legs, which the other bartender kindly advised to not splurge on the kings as they were not worth the extra money and the snow crabs were just as good. They took about 20-30 minutes to come out after ordering. When they finally came out the legs were not warm and cool to the touch. The quality was very disappointing, out of two clusters only two legs had a decent amount of meat which tasted overcooked and were very stringy. Thank goodness Jason noticed on his own that they were sub par and said another order was coming out on the house. Unfortunately the next 'batch' was not much better and was only one cluster. Overall was very...

First the pros: I love the bar seating sections. It really allows you to meet new people. The bread that comes with the crab dip is amazing!!!! I ordered a second one. (I wish they would have told me it was an extra charge, but I still would have paid it, becasue that was how good the bread was!) The calamari was good too. For our main courses, the salmon was seasoned well and juicy and the flavor of the Jamaican me crazy was delicious for those of us who like spicy dishes.
The cons: While the set up for seating was awesome, all the chairs are hard. The comfortability is not there, so even if you wanted to stay and have another beverage, you wouldn't because seating is not comfortable. They don't even offer any options for people who cant seat on wood chairs. The crab dip was just ok. I wont order it again as it was underwhelming. Although the calamari was really good, the sauce was heavy in the middle and not evenly spread out, so the middle pieces were very soggy. Great flavor though Although the flavor of the Jamaican me crazy was so tasty, the beef was overcooked. The shrimp was the only thing I ate. Beef was left on the plate and there was no offer to recook the meat, even when I mentioned it so I wasted my money there. I feel like this restaurant could have received a 4- star from me, if There was an offer to recook the meat or at least discount the meal since I did not eat the beef. They would have received a 5- star, if comfortable seating is added and birthdays...
