I stopped in to Tbonz tonight not knowing what I was in the mood for. It's been about 4-5yrs since I have eaten there I believe.
Since I was by myself I sat at the bar at the end near the service station. Between the bartenders helping me and all of the wait staff that would come pick up next to me, I must say everyone there was very friendly and helpful to each other and their guests. I barely heard any complaining or whining, all good stuff which is always nice when you go somewhere.
I Had a couple John Dalys to drink 🍷 You can't go wrong with Sweet Tea vodka!
I was thinking I'd probably get an entree, maybe steak or ribs. Then I saw "our famous double fried wings" It was a few mins before happy hour ended so I put in an order of the wings. I wasn't sure what flavor I wanted so I asked my bartender. She suggested the dry rub for something different. Since I have been on a dry rub kick when making my own wings at home that seemed like a good choice.
The wings came out looking super delish. (See picture for proof) The first bite I was immediately taken back by the insane crispiness of them. The double fried would do that I'm guessing! Definitely a game changer. But the dry rub was the downfall for me. There was sooo much caked on the wings I kept scraping it off as much as possible. They were Soo salty my eyes were crossing. It also seemed like someone took the spice rack picked random ones and added them along with sugar, cinnamon, salt and other salty seasonings to create this rub.
The whole time I was wishing I would have gotten them plain or sauced with something else. Because the wings themselves are so good and very crunchy but after a couple I was just battling through them with that dry rub that was making it hard to enjoy.
I would definitely get the wings without the dry rub. I would actually get them plain with sauce on the side if I were you. This way you can enjoy the full Krispy krunchiness of the wing!
I think the last time I came I had probably steak baked potato which I think was very good. You should check this place out...
Read moreI chose this restaurant for our last night at Myrtle Beach. Also, It was my brother in law’s birthday trip so my husband and I wanted to take him somewhere nice for dinner. We came in and was sat down almost immediately which was the only good thing about our visit. We sat down and our waitress passed by us 4 times saying I’ll be with you in a minute. 20 minutes later she came and took our drink order. She gave us our drink and there was something floating in my drink. She passed by us twice before my husband had to wave her down and tell her about my drink. ATP I asked for paper cups. Our waitress again repeatedly passed by our table saying she would be over to take our food order finally 45 minutes later she came to take our order. The restaurant was not packed at all but 3 large tables were in her section and I felt like she should have asked for help if she couldn’t handle it on her own. We seen that the other waitresses were giving their customers bread and butter so again my husband waved her down to ask if we could get some while we waited for our food (this was after we order our food it was taking a long time). My son and brother in law drinks needed a refill and it took her 20 minutes to come and realize that. Fast forward we get our food after waiting about 30 more minutes (so we waited about a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food). I asked for a medium well steak and it was well done and chewy my brother in law said his steak was chewy as well but he was hungry and still ate atp I sent my steak back for ribs to go because I was super annoyed and it was getting late. Oh not to mention they “mess” up our son order and had to re cook it ( he asked for just cheese and steak on his sandwich so I guess they accidentally put other stuff on it). The manger or whoever the guy was did take the steak and sandwich off the check but I would have rather just plain old good service and a good meal instead. My husband still gave her a tip because that’s just who we are but this is the WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE...
Read moreI came here on 4/17/21 for dinner. This was my first real meal of the day. I had looked at the menu online and I was excited to try it. My bf ordered happy hour mozzarella sticks as an app. Unfortunately, Majority of them didn’t even have cheese in them. They were probably cooked too long. The waitress, Maddie, was informed. A fresh batch was brought out and they were correct. The manager actually brought them out. I ordered chicken wings with dry rub seasoning. I’m doing keto and can’t have the sauces they were offering except Buffalo, but I don’t like Buffalo sauce lol. I’m glad they were able to accommodate. The dry rub seasoning they used is what they use on their sirloins. It was good. I enjoyed it. I just wish the wings had more of the seasoning lol.
For drinks, I ordered a merlot. For happy hour (4-7PM Daily), 5 oz is $4 and the 9oz I got was $9. My bf got the Myrtle Mama cocktail. I had a small taste and it was delicious.
For my entree, I got the half rack ribs with dry rub seasoning with broccoli and Brussels sprouts as my sides. The ribs were delicious!! I hadn’t had ribs in a long time. My bf got steak, baked potato, and green beans. He enjoyed it.
Maddie was really attentive, patient, and helpful in the beginning. She became less attentive after we got our food. I needed salt and pepper to add on my veggies but I had to eat it without it because she didn’t come back until I had gotten full and needed boxes. I still got the salt and pepper to go, so that I could eat it later.
Overall: The experience was good. There was only a 10 mins wait, which is better than the 15 min wait I was told when I called right before coming. The issue with the moz sticks were fixed quickly and easily. The food was delicious and the service was decent. The bathroom was clean and smelled good. I’m only visiting the area for my birthday, but I would come back whenever I’m...
