Dolli’s Diner

This week for our weekly lunch get together Dolli’s Diner in downtown Nacogdoches was selected. Arrived prior to the lunch crowd and seating was no problem. Parking nearby is tight but easy to find free parking that is available even with a short walk.

The diner is charming with artwork and posters on display. The restroom is clean and fully stocked. Always important to me in an eatery.

Service was the best part of the afternoon. Even better than the food and the food is good and tasty. Our drinks received additional pours without having to make a request; always nice. Any questions were honestly answered about the food. Portions were not large but adequate and the cost is reasonable. Menu is very diversified and breakfast is served all day. At lunch for sure and that is always nice when you desire a late breakfast. Orders and the delivery of the food was done in a short period of time considering the restaurant was very busy.

On my first visit here I ordered the Club Sandwich. The size was moderate. I was expecting something larger but the taste made up for the size. Although the menu states it is served on Texas Toast the bread size was much smaller than my experience with Texas Toast. It consisted of Ham, Turkey, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato, and pickles. Completely enjoyed the sandwich. Requested a substitute in place of fries or the frozen type onion rings that was listed in other Reviews. No problem! Was presented with a nice mixed salad with requested Balsamic dressing. Nice substitute over fried food.

My lunch partner did Breakfast. Ordered Eggs, Ham, and Potatoes with Toast. He enjoyed his selection and his plate was completely cleared of all food at the end of lunch.

Over and above the tasty food was the service. Will seek out our server on a...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dolli's Diner in Nacogdoches, TX, and I have to say, it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. From start to finish, the entire experience was fantastic.

First and foremost, the food was absolutely delicious. The menu had a great selection of classic diner fare, and everything we ordered was prepared to perfection. The portions were generous, and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch. It was clear that the chefs at Dolli's Diner take great pride in their work, and it showed in the taste and presentation of the food.

But what really set Dolli's Diner apart was the level of service we received. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they went out of their way to make sure that we were taken care of. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided great recommendations. She was attentive without being overbearing, and she made us feel right at home.

In addition to the great food and service, I also appreciated the ambiance of Dolli's Diner. It had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, with a retro feel that added to the overall experience. It was the perfect spot for a casual meal with friends or family, and I could see myself coming back time and time again.

Overall, I can confidently say that Dolli's Diner is one of the best restaurants in Nacogdoches. The food is fantastic, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. If you're looking for a great meal in a great setting, look no further than Dolli's Diner. It's a true gem in the heart of Nacogdoches, and I can't...

Dollie’s Diner is iconic Nacogdoches for sure. It’s located in the heart of historic downtown, the atmosphere is great and the service is wonderful; however, in my opinion the food could use some improvement. Hear me out…

Much of my critique may be personal preference, but I believe it’s has merit. This morning I ordered the Mexican omelette, the omelette itself tasted ok, but there were some shortfalls. The omelette was more of a scramble, which is ok, but the cheese was a single slice of barely melted cheese resting on the top. With slightly more effort, and better results, the cheese could have been incorporated more evenly within the omelette. The Mexican omelette was served with toast that was cold and hard, and had obviously been toasted ahead of time. The softened butter was spread on the toast and didn’t melt into the toast at all because of the temperature and hardness. With slightly more effort, the toast could have been toasted fresh and served warm. At many places the Mexican breakfasts are served with tortillas, am I wrong here? I did request tortillas, but the only tortillas they had were larger than the plate itself. This particular dish would be improved with smaller, taco-size, tortillas.

To many this may all be nit picky, but it’s the small things that make a restaurant great. I’ll most likely dine at Dollie’s again, because it just feels good to eat there; but there are ways that their food could...

I've been driving through Nacogdoches for years and I finally had the time to stop at this awesome diner. Local artwork is all over the walls from all ages. Check out the hallway to the bathrooms. Elizabeth, the floor manager, was my waitress. She was extremely helpful with the menu and helped me save money. The "Create Your Own" omelette is your best option if you know what you want. Find out these are little more than a four egg omelette and they're whipped up really nice. The hash browns are sliced no more than a quarter inch thick and they're fried to perfection. Great crunch! Sometimes when you order toast it's really thin and flimsy but not here. Thick and hardy. Grateful that omelette sandwich. What other thing I noticed is that the staff usually have a smile on their faces. They also work together like ants - never standing around for more than a minute. They're constantly helping each other out to make sure the customer experience is #1. My coffee never ran dry. I have the chance to talk to the owner, Miss Dollie, and she has a great business model and I had to brag on her staff. This is truly a family-owned and run restaurant. I highly recommend that you make the effort to stop by and enjoy this family environment and awesome food!! If there was six stars I would give it to them.

This is one of the spots to go to when visiting Nacogdoches. Was not expecting too much, just a quick breakfast, and we out. I will say the place gets pretty crowded, however, they got us a seat fast and everyone was full of energy, appeared happy, and made sure we were taken care of. The man who seated us was running all over the place, setting up silverware, leasing other employees, and had time to check on is to make sure everything was good. Our server was kind and she has that welcoming personality. I ordered chicken and a waffle. Now that was some good chicken. The outside was as crispy as I would want, and the inside was VERY tender! Was still hot when it reached me and I enjoyed every bit of it. The waffle, well for the most part, is just a waffle. It was well cooked and there was a bit of extra vanilla flavor which I actually appreciated. What I did have an issue with was the water. It was warm so did not enjoy as much as I would have liked. My girlfriend ordered eggs and she said they were good. She would have liked of there were more gluten free options. Still, overall, I liked the experience, and if I return to Nac, that will be the place to eat at. I recommend y'all try it out.

When traveling through Nacogdoches, TX, Dolli's Diner is definitely a place you will want to visit. We found this gem of a place today and we're quite impressed. This cute restaurant is nestled right on the corner of the lovely old down town square. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. I can't say enough for the food. We had fried green tomatoes, a fantastic meatloaf sandwich on sourdough bread with onion rings, the bacon cheeseburger, and a classic cheeseburger (both with fries.) We ate till we couldn't eat anymore and then packed the rest to go. 😋 Betty Boop seems to be their mascot as she is displayed among what looks like a local artist's paintings that they have showcased around the restaurant. Some of the paintings are even for sale. This home grown restaurant has been around for 6 years which made it through covid, and rightly so. The down to earth friendly employees and atmosphere combines with great food is a must see. You won't regret the experience. You can also conveniently walk off some of your meal and stretch your legs by strolling around the beautifully well kept historical town square.
