This place has impressively bad service, not so great coffee, and the food is not good either. I have been going to cool beans for years now, and unfortunately, the food, coffee, and service progressively gets worse. I am surprised to see a rating of 4.1. The past time I went there, I placed an order online, arrived after the estimated time and stood near the counter patiently and my order hadn't even been started. There were 3-4 employees there, all gossiping about their thoughts of past employees. They are not friendly and blatantly ignore you. Then, I went to inquire about my sandwich and coffee, and the girl looked like I was asking her for her wallet. Like umm I am just asking about the food I paid for and you are paid to be making? I would understand if it were busy, but they were not at all, as this was a Monday. Anyway, my sandwich was thrown together (I got avocado in my sandwich and there was none), and the coffee was not great either. The only thing this place has going for them is the location, otherwise, it would be out of business. I can appreciate what they do for gansett Dave and that's about it. The staff's entitlement is astounding and I won't be going back to this place (not to mention how overpriced everything is for...
Read moreHere on vacation. Trying different coffee shops in the mornings. Today was cool beans. Little chaotic, crammed and loud. But I can dig that. It’s Sunday morning, so expected. There’s one staff member with a long brown ponytail and her phone, texting the whole time while pulling shots with the other. She is super rude to customers. She looks like she hates being here. The one employee i encountered with decent customer service is a brown curly haired guy with glasses. The nitro cold brew with vanilla was very good. I love when I can find a place with nitro. And their sign says it’s locally roasted. I also got a spinach butter croissant. It also was really good. Only wish they offered to warm or toast it. I think ultimately they could remove a couple tables and just have less seating. People were squeezing by chairs, tables and people. Yesterday I went to Queen of Cups. If given the choice, I’d go back there...
Read moreI feel bad writing a bad review because from what I could tell, the owner is pregnant. It must be stressful to run a business and go through the BS that restaurants that they're dealing with right now.
Yesterday I ordered a bacon, egg, & cheese sandwich and an iced latte. For $6.00, the sandwich was exactly what I expected: not bad, but not amazing either.
But the real problem was a the latte. Someone literally just poured coffee over a ton of milk - which would make it an iced coffee (maybe she heard me wrong). I know it was coffee instead of espresso because at the bottom of the cup was coffee grinds (which doesn't happen with a pulled shot of espresso.) I wouldn't have been too upset about that, but the coffee was burnt, like really burnt. The taste was so strong that I could only take a few sips before deciding to pour it out.
I was really disappointed, and won't be returning. Best of luck...
