I have loved DALT'S Grill for years and years. I've only been dining there for about 20 years or so--before and after the the remodel and still love it. HUGE portion sizes and these wonderful yeast rolls with whipped honey butter and it's making my mouth water just thinking about them. My usual is their Chicken Pot Pie with a side of fruit but they're turkey and dressing and their meatloaf are great options as well. Put it this way...I've never had anything I didn't like and every plate is piled high. All of their dinners automatically come with their delicious smashed potatoes and choice of 1 side and on occasion I'll switch it out with one of their other great side options like the steamed broccoli, vegi medley, green beans, fruit and I can't recall all if the rest--there's too many choices to choose from on the list. The fruit tea is so tasty and refreshing--gives me a break from the normal Sweet Tea, Coke, Dr. Pepper, etc soft drinks, or water options. For those of you that drink adult beverages have no fear, you're in luck as Dalt's has a full bar, an ok wine menu and decent selection of both import and domestic beers and ale's. We usually stop in for a nice lunch a few times a month and when you go too--ask for Sandy. Sandy is totally awesome!!! Love her! Quick service, never an empty glass, always a big smile and always on top of her game. I have gone in on a very few rate occasions and the server walked around like she was a zombie or sleep walking and walking around in a complete daze--no smile, no personality, and she moved in very slow, methodical motion like she was in deep thought and at a totally different place instead of at work and in the moment which left our experience less than and my tea glass empty for almost half my meal until I got up and asked someone for a refill. Except for that one occasion and another when the restaurant was at Max capacity at a dinner seating I have always had the best dining experience and best service here...

The restaurant is a old staple in the White Bridge Road area. The styling of the building and the decor is timeless and never seems old. There is a lot of seating available and the places seemed very clean. The bar area is also really nice.
Michael was our server. He was great. He greeted us promptly and took our drink order. Michael was quick to return with our drinks and a basket of rolls (which were delicious). We were indecisive due to the many items on the list. Michael was sure to keep checking on us to see if we were ready to order, though not in a "rushing us" type fashion. We were not sparing on the drinks. Our glasses stayed full and we never had to ask for refills. Michael engaged in conversation but not to the point of being bothersome. He was very appreciative of our job-trade and let us know that he was appreciative. Michael was a great server for us on this visit. When the food came out the food was presented well and the portions were
The menu is super varied. Chose from soups, salads, steak, and meat and three type options. On this day I chose the potato soup and my buddy had the grilled chicken salad. When the food came out it food was presented well and the portions were fair for the price. The food was as good as it looked. The food appeared to be hot and fresh. Sometimes that is hard to do with soup that sits in a pot all day. There were no issues or complaints with what we ordered.
It takes A LOT for me to give a 5 stars as perfection is almost impossible to achieve. In my book a 4 might as well be a 5.....I haven't visited for dinner but when I do I hope the experience is just as pleasurable. Keep up the good work!
Definitely on the list of places to visit if you want a break from the "typical chain" places in Nashville.

Read moreLocation: 4/5: Easy to get to, easy to leave. Shares a parking lot with a strip mall...so, traffic is occasionally backed-up.
Ambiance: 3/5: I think the feeling of the Dalts is suppose to be retro, but it just feels old. The booths, decor, the floor, servers' desk, and paint just feels dated and not "back-in-time."
Value for $$: 3.5/5: Not too bad. My wife thinks my Philly ($13) and her French dip ($13) was over priced, and I think the prices were okay. We also had the Triple Appetizer ($14), which was definitely over priced for what it was (4 chicken tenders, 4 cheese sticks, and 4 fried green tomatoes)...quantity was okay, quality was not okay. Additionally, everything tasted as if it was fried in the same old oil.
Cuisine: 3/5: My Philly ($13) was not good. Having spent a lot of time in Philadelphia, I am a little picky about my Phillies, and a slice of American cheese does not make for a good Philly. The meat was a little off and my roll was a little stale. My wife had the same opinion about the meat and bread on her French dip ($13). The fried green tomatoes from the Triple Appetizer ($14) would have been great if it wasn't for the bad oil taste. The chicken tenders would have been great except for the oil taste. The cheese sticks...well, you get it.
Services: 5/5: Our server was awesome...she was funny, patient, and attentive. I wish we could remember her name to give her a big shout out. Crazy socks lady...if that rings a bell, then that is her! You were awesome. Thank you!
Hygiene: 3/5: Everything was just okay. Tables and booth was old and clean on top, dirty everywhere else. Plates, cups, and utensils were all very clean. Bathroom was clean enough.
Recommend: 3/5: We had a good time, and we would recommend. However, we will likely not be back unless we are with others who really wanted...
