Recently opened, family owned lHalal Bites is a fine addition to New Castle’s already impressive food offerings. I stopped in and ordered the Adana Kabab Platter, a falafel platter, and baklava deserts for take-away. I waited only a few minutes and took home lunch -and supper - for two, made of only fresh ingredients, nothing pre-frozen or microwaved, and very, very good. The meat, felafel, and accompanying rice were quite flavorful and not at all oily, as can be the case. The pistachio and walnut pastries were perfect, not too sweet, not too syrupy., and the right consistency. We were impressed.

Platters and sandwiches are priced alike and appear to be more reasonable than at shops offering a similar menu elsewhere in the county. I was welcomed and served promptly and attentively, and went away happy.

Halal Bites has 2 or 3 tables but seems to cater to take-away business. I notice they have already established delivery services through Doordash, and perhaps other services as well.

I think I’ll wrap up my review and place an order for delivery.
