(Review and pictures are continuously taken down by owner clearly I need to contact the Better Business Bureau) My question is why? Are FACTS not wanted, are people not entitled to their honest opinion(s) because you want to put on a false facade to show face?! This place is ALL CAP and too sketchy!! This fraudulent establishment since its inception, in October of 2021 has been an undoubtedly undisputed, uncontested, unchallenged, unquestioned incubus causing nothing but HAVOC & NUISANCE! It's bad enough that Jazzy's Cabaret blasts its music so loudly that it penetrates and vibrates throughout the apartment building but, what is worse is the addition of the outside noise. Every Tuesday/Wednesday-Sunday from hours of approximately 4:30 pm to 4 am Jazzy's patrons crowd and loiter every inch of Orange Street, Crown Street, and George Street including the adjacent parking lots, and the front and rear entrances to the Ninth Square Apartment building and courtyard, blocking access and exiting of the building. The noise is truly multifaceted and tremendous I mean it's a multitude of noises daily: people talking loudly, yelling, screaming, arguing, cursing, cackling, singing along to the music that's being blasted, people breaking bottles, continuous car horn honking, parked cars/motorcycles blasting music and revving their engines, cars doing donuts and driving recklessly in the middle of the street and parking lots which is right off the highway which is beyond dangerous and could cause some serious accidents, injuries, and catastrophic events to the surrounding areas, tenants and public. There are people intoxicated publicly consuming alcoholic beverages right outside of Jazzy's, and throughout the block/parking lot, people getting high and smoking marijuana to the point you can smell the fumes outside your apartment window. Even after Jazzy's is supposed to be closed their patrons decide to hang around and hang out for hours either in the restaurant's outdoor covered seating pavilion and/or the adjacent George Street parking lot. It's truly baffling the behavior exhibited by what most would presume are grown adults instead they act like a child who is 2 and has no sense or home training. There are enough problems in New Haven including the crime downtown, the unnecessary behavior provided by Jazzy's patrons is just that very unnecessary and only an attraction to crime that's not needed and/or wanted! To add, Jazzy's has the apartment building's courtyard and trash area a hot mess - this courtyard is for tenants to access and walkthrough however that's impossible from all the trash and literal grease thrown everywhere; it's truly disgusting, a rodent infestation waiting to happen. The entirety of the pavement of the courtyard is covered in grease, food and garbage remnants, discarded dirty rags, etc. Beacon Communities, The New Haven Police Department, LAZ Parking Security, and The City of New Haven all collectively know about Jazzy's Cabaret and the criminal activity, noise ordinance, and nuisance issues it brings forth, yet they're still allowed to be open?! It's NO SECRET that this place has horrible reviews across many platforms i.e. Google, Yelp, Grubhub, OpenTable, etc. emphasizing the lack of quality provided by Jazzy's yet, again the question bares why are they still open? Clearly, many efforts are needed in making sure this place shuts down for good if not completely but, definitely at 4 Orange Street. Jazzy's Cabaret only provides bottom-of-the-barrel service... Extended wait times for seating and when receiving drinks/food, tasteless, cold, reheated, old food being provided, the false advertisements for both, drinks and food menu items not being honored or available, ridiculous and absurd clothing attire requirements, rude and poorly trained, ill-mannered, inattentive waitstaff, etc. The list goes on. This place is not Jazzy, it's ratchet and ghetto at best and serves no purpose but to create havoc in what was once a historic district, nice, quiet place to live, now it's hell - true torture!! SMH

Honestly the vision is there however execution is lacking I debated long and hard as to whether I would leave a review but it would be remiss of me to not be honest about my experience back in October. There is no reason why it shouldn’t be packed every single day it is such a unique establishment. The Gerber sized baby portions just didn’t sit well given the entree I ordered is roughly $30 the flavors were intense and desirable the portion sizes were concerning more so in regards to the sides and honestly a slap in the face one of my pieces of chicken was all bones and skin and the sides were enough for one very tiny forkful. It doesn’t make sense that this was an event celebrating Libras. There were many people there celebrating their actual birthday. I say this to say this was an event that had been advertised with an ample enough time for the restaurant to make sure they had the proper ingredients to offer their full menu there was no specialty menu for this set event which also struck me as odd. But the staples that were listed such as the macaroni and cheese was not accessible the server stated that they didn’t have all the cheeses that they need it and to me that just didn’t make sense and was not justifiable as there was ample time to prepare accordingly. If my family member knew about this event weeks and then the necessary ingredients could’ve been acquired in that timely fashion as well. Again this troubles me because this restaurant has some of the best food that wI’ve ever tasted but the portions are minuscule. Also it is very loud there is live music playing so if you intend on having a conversation just be prepared to text each other from across the table it is almost impossible to hear each other the server could barely hear us it took us about 30 minutes just to get glasses of water and another 15 minutes to place our orders and I mean this is not an exaggeration my cousin timed it

We had an amazing night from start to finish. On the night we went, the street was blocked off and there was a small festival with a few food trucks and several vendors out front(8pm). It was warm and foggy out which only lent to the calm cool mysterious atmosphere. Walking in we were greeted at the door and escorted to our group. We were there to celebrate the anniversary of my mother gaining her wings. The decor was festive. It had the feel of the Renaissance, New York/ New Orleans. The drinks were amazing! I had a Nina(Simone) Delicious!! And a Strong Island Ice Tea. I ordered the Magnolia. It came with blackened creole shrimp, sweet plantains, cauliflower rice, turkey collard greens, and sweet honey cornbread. It was spicy!!!! The good burn. Absolutely delicious. Never had cauliflower rice that had so much flavor. My cousin had the sexy(chicken) tenders. Pricing was fair. The live band set the mood perfectly. We got a little Anita Baker, some Stevie Wonder , and many more. They were the bomb!! Mixed and multicultural, eclectic crowd. Everyone in the place was enjoying the night. We will definitely be back...Several more times!! I highly recommend to anyone considering going.

First, I will say that I am an Executive Chef and I also own a restaurant consulting firm. I was also the Executive Chef for Smoke Jazz Club in NYC. With that said I will leave a detailed honest review in hopes of the owner figuring out what is wrong.

Yesterday (5/18) I decided to try a place that offered music and good food with an amazing atmosphere, when I looked up Jazz Clubs in CT, this was the first one that came up. So I decided to give it a shot.

I made reservations for 6pm, but I ended up getting there slightly early around 540. I was told that there was a $20 (which is standard for Jazz clubs) cover charge to sit in the music area if I wanted to check out the band and that's what I was there for. I asked what time will the band begin and I was told 7pm. I was sat immediately which was great.

My order was taken exactly at 555pm, I ordered the Callaway for drink and the Marley for the meal which was jerk chicken with rice and red beans, plantains and cabbage.

My drink came within 10 minutes and that was such a well made drink. The server was honest and told me that there was going to be a slight delay in the food coming but he would bring corn bread to hold me over.

At this time there was only myself and a couple in the entire restaurant.

The Jazz music that was playing in the background was amazing, the sound of the music you can tell was tweaked perfectly to meet the acoustics of the restaurant.

I went to the bathroom and they have amazing vinyl records hung throughout the restaurant which reminded me of when I used to DJ. The bathroom was beautiful and cleaned well and the ambiance was great.

Now, this is when everything went south! It is now 647pm and I had to flag the server and ask him about the corn bread. He said that he will get it right away and that the food will be out in 5 minutes. He brought out the corn bread 5 minutes later and it was great, well made but too much cinnamon.

Finally the couple who was already there received their food which was 715pm and then I was once again told that my food will be out in 5 minutes. My food arrived at 741pm exactly and the disappointment that I felt when I saw it was overwhelming.

The rice and red beans and the chicken were beyond dry, my guess is that the food was cooked prior and was heated up for meal time which you should never do especially with rice and chicken. The Mac and Cheese was bad, very salty, someone was very heavy handed with the sea salt and the pasta was undercooked. The food was dry and salty instead of flavorful and fulfilling.

By this time I wanted to leave but I really wanted to see what the singer was going to sing. And as you guessed, the music did not start at 7pm, it started at 823pm due to technical issues. The singer is great, you can see how brave she was putting her heart out there. But the microphone was not tuned at all, Everytime she hit a high note it would rattle your ears and brain.

Now, I gave this place 3 stars because on their own they gave me the cover charge back, and a 15 percent discount.

Now, I am not sure what the issue was, from other reviews the food delay seems to be a major issue, it can possibly be that they don't have the proper equipment or space to handle the menu, or they don't have a real chef that would make a difference in the food quality and who could help with the efficiency of the flow of the kitchen.

However, they need to hire a consultant or a real experienced chef who could see what the issue is and help out. I understand that an experienced chef is expensive, but a consultant may be the best investment to help you figure out how to help with the flow of the kitchen.

And will also help to stop the financial bleeding of having to give the cover charge back and 15 percent back.

I am willing to help and not charge you because I see the potential of this place. If not I can recommend someone to come and see...
