I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ashley's Kitchen in New Kensington, PA, and I must say it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
The highlight of my meal was the Italian beef stuffed bread with horseradish sauce. The combination of tender, flavorful beef and the tangy kick of horseradish sauce was absolutely sensational. The bread was perfectly baked, offering a satisfying crunch while still maintaining a soft, doughy center. It was a delightful twist on a classic sandwich, and I savored every bite.
Additionally, I couldn't resist ordering a bowl of their French onion soup, and I was not disappointed. The rich, savory broth was packed with caramelized onions and topped with a generous layer of melted cheese. It was the perfect balance of flavors, and I found myself savoring each spoonful.
Overall, my dining experience at Ashley's Kitchen was nothing short of fantastic. The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was inviting. I highly recommend trying their Italian beef stuffed bread with horseradish sauce and indulging in their mouthwatering French onion soup. It's a culinary gem in New Kensington that you don't...
Read moreI was immediately met with a stiff or firm expression that I felt was entirely inappropriate and obviously not a smile. I felt judged immediately about my appearance or politics or something even though nothing was said about that. The bread on the calzone was overcooked and too crusty. The spinach filling was watery. Nothing about the meal felt like the ingredients "fit together" or were melded together through the cooking process. I have a problem with my appetite anyway, and this didn't help. I understand the ambiance and that they were trying to bring about some positive changes in a community with many abandoned buildings and other issues. But as far as I am concerned, the service was immediately unfriendly, the food not put together correctly, and ultimately overpriced for the surrounding community. Eat'n Park down the road is similarly priced, you get (more) food, it tastes appropriate, and it is adapted to serve their community. I don't see why a small business can't compete with that and also make some community...
Read moreI tried for the first time via Door Dash. I received my food hot and on time. Chicken salad was tasty. Lots of different veggies and homemade ranch was delicious. Strawberry Jell-O pretzel salad was also good. I added a few more my own pretzels because I like it a little more chunky, but the flavor was really good. .BUT… The reason for my order .. I am sick and wanted wedding soup. I’m always looking for somewhere that doesn’t put egg drop in their soup and it appeared they did not. The soup did not taste good to me at all. The meatballs had an odd flavor and were greasy. The soup itself had tasted like 2 things… chicken stock that had been simmering all day and the grease from the meatballs. No other flavor… I added some fresh grated Parm and even some salt but no luck . and it just didn’t taste like the Italian wedding soup that I grew up enjoying. It was...
