Fire on the Bayou New Smyrna Beach — Restaurant in New Smyrna Beach

We have had the opportunity to visit twice now, and both times have been amazing. We stopped in for my birthday dinner this evening as a party of four, my wife, my two young sons, and myself. We were greeted quickly by Mikki, who gave us some recommendations and got our food started. We had the creole cheese curds to start, my wife had the Fat Tuesday burger for the second time, I had the shrimp po’ boy for the second time, and my kids enjoyed their kids’ meals of chicken tenders, and a cheeseburger. We finished the meal off with a small order of beignets. We all agreed that this needs to be our new spot, as the food is scratch made, fresh and delicious. My shrimp po’boy was huge and my wife’s burger is top 3 in the area.

Our child’s meal had to be sent back because it was completely burned and tasted horrible… instead of comping the meal, they even charged $1 for the cheese on the burger. So $9 for a slider and 10 potato wedges. Our server asked us if we would like dessert, thinking they were going to comp for the nasty food they served my toddler. But no we were charged full price for that as well. My husband ordered the lemon chicken but the rice was served completely cold. My shrimp po boy had good flavor, except the bread was mostly inedible and extremely hard. The rice and beans left so much to be desired! We were pushed by the entire time due to their table placement, so that wasn’t great. Our server was unprofessional and had a strange attitude when asked questions and acted annoyed by us. Was going by and had wanted to stop in and I had time so I swung in for lunch with my partner. When we entered it was noticeably different from the previous restaurant and had the whole interior redone New Orleans style and everything was clean and new including the bathrooms. We got the menu and it had a nice variety of reasonable prices. The waitress also told us about the dailies special s.
