Hey, if you love shiny new things or if you're looking for content for your next social media post, then this is 100% the place for you. Buuut, if you're a connoisseur of coffee, someone who appreciates the subtle complex differing notes of espresso and pour-over, this then is most certainly not the place. I have visited over 200 espresso bars and roasters this year and this is the worst coffee I have tasted yet! Sour, high acidic and under-extracted: terrible! This is NYC! We have exceptional coffee in every neighborhood! Just go to Abraco or La Cabra or Embriago- the list goes on... To give this place a fair shot, I also tried their espresso ice cream but once again, because the espresso is awful, the entire product is ruined. Read moreOne of the best coffee spots I’ve found in NYC. Ansa Café is not your typical coffee shop they actually roast the beans right in front of you using their own micro-roaster, and you can taste the difference. The coffee is incredibly fresh, smooth, and flavorful.
The vibe is modern, clean, and chill. You can sit by the window, watch the roasting process, and enjoy the aroma. The baristas are super friendly and really know their stuff they explained the whole concept of how they roast small batches on demand.
Prices are fair for the quality, and it’s clear they care about sustainability and doing things differently. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re anywhere near SoHo ....
