Calexico — Restaurant in New York

It's a 10 minute jaunt from the nearest train stop, (which is good for burning a few of the calories you're about to consume), but it's totally worth the time! The food is delicious, they have daily specials, the service is very friendly, and they have a sauce bar, which includes, among other things, an arbol pumpkin seed sauce. That and the crack sauce make this place a creamy sauce lover's paradise.

The first time I went I had to get the two daily specials tacos: -Rajas: Poblano, bacon, and onion in cream with cotija and cilantro (amazing) -Pulled chicken in spicy pineapple, coconut salsa with pickled onion and cilantro (yummy, but a bit too much chicken)

And that's when I noticed the salsa bar and had to order a small salad in order to be able to utilize it. And I must say that 4 bucks for the deluxe salad they give you rocks.

This time though I got a couple more things off the menu: -Pulled pork taco (excellent) -Pork grits (so good, served with cheddar, jalapeno, corn and cilantro, mmm)

OK my opinion, The food quantity and quality of this local restaurant is being ruined by the 3rd party app food order business. If you live in the neighborhood and want decent food? Please don't use a 3rd party apps....and then complain when the food is cold or not what you ordered. Face to face transactions go a long way to ensuring you get what you order and pay for., that your food is fresh and hot.... The amount of meat in the tacos has gone down...quality of meat is just OK now. This restaurant used to be so much better. There is a price to be paid ON TOP of the 3rd party service fee for not doing business face to face.....smiling, being inter personal and tipping...being recognized as a regular customer.....what has happened to a once very very good restaurant is the price we all pay if we live within walking distance but use...

Ordered a large delivery order. Missed quite a bit of our order and really destroyed the family dinner. Also left out upcharge extras that were paid for.

Super rude response when my sister called to let them know we were missing food. No offer to do anything.

The food was okay. My burrito was completely unmixed. 50% of the length of it had nothing except lettuce, sour cream, and pickled onions. The other side had all the meat and rice. The jalapeños that cost $1 were missing.

It’s taking -forever- to complete the order. We know they can deliver fast (they did for the partial order) and have kept us waiting for the missing items for double the time of the first delivery. An hour later and we’re still...
