Concettina — Restaurant in New York

Unfortunately I was very disappointed with this restaurant. The outdoor area is very cute and well decorated and the reviews are outstanding, so we decided to give it a try. Such a shame. The server was attentive enough.The bread was chewy and cold upon arrival which probably should have been the first sign. I decided to go with a safe option -Penne a la vodka with chicken and my boyfriend got the caccio pepe. The penne a la vodka was the worst that I've tried. So bad that I could only tolerate a few bites, the sauce was thin and orange looking and the chicken tasted bland, old and dry. This is the first time I cannot even stomach more than a few bites of a meal. The caccio pepe was better , my boyfriend ate half of it but it was unremarkable and had way too much pepper. What a wonderful experience! We had my mother’s birthday dinner tonight and were impressed! Easy parking, inviting welcome, and seated immediately. For starters we had the mixed seafood, especially loved the calamari and shrimp. The grilled octopus was tender. The buffalo mozzarella excellent. I had the cacio a Pepe perfectly prepared al dente. Chicken Francese was delicious and also tried my mother’s veal special breaded and topped with Parmesan. I love that the food was tasty but didn’t feel heavy. This restaurant is fantastic. The food was out of this world. The fresh Mozzarella was the best I’ve ever eaten. My wife and I had the veal chop for two which was perfectly cooked and delicious. We brought our kids who are not big on eating out and all three of them can’t wait to go back. The ambience was delightful and the service second to none. Our whole experience was five star and we will be going back. Before that I can’t wait to eat the leftovers we brought home. Do yourself a favor and go experience this restaurant. You will not be...
