To preface this review, I am myself of Jamaican and Trinidadian heritage and Miss Lily's was unfortunately an authentically inauthentic experience. Between the ox tail stew which was lacking in flavor and the poor service at this location, I would say to pass it up for anything that requires a restaurant that will impress on any front. My server Jamal was inattentive, cold, and unaccommodating as was the rest of the service crew excluding the hostess for which we can of course have an a modicum of expectations dictating that they at the very least exercise proper customer service skills. While Miss Lily's will be okay for casual dining and an introduction to Jamaican cuisine, my experience was so disappointing that it left me clamoring to write a review to warn others of the excessive 'hype' surrounding this location. Side note - AVOID THE SORREL. We received what seemed to be a 12 oz. glass container of the drink with ice filled from bottom to top and a tasteless draw of hibiscus with just the slightest hint of ginger and sweetener all coming in for a whopping price of $6! Between the ice and the size of glass, there could not been more than 8 oz. of watered down sorrel. I plea to the management team to restructure the business operation and actually start to value their customers and pay proper respects to the Jamaican culture and cuisine. Poor customer service and hubris in this fact is nothing to be proud of.

I am vacationing in NYC and my girlfriend, who's a local, said I absolutely had to stop by Miss Lily's and I'm glad I did! The food is mainly Jamaican and Jamaican-inspired with a Lily's twist. I ended up getting the shrimp and rice dish and I practically inhaled it. The blend of herbs and spices were perfect. The shrimp was plump and savory. The roti (bread) was buttery and flakey. I don't usually finish most dishes down to the plate, but this was the exception. My girlfriend got the Jerk Chicken and it basically fell off the bone! Their jerk recipe is great. I'd recommend this dish for basically anyone interested in Miss Lily's. I think it's a flagship. Service was also satisfactory. While the ambiance was a bit loud (I liked that; it was also later in the evening), our waitress constantly made sure we had what we needed. Everyone in there seemed to be having a really good time. The food came out quick too. All in all, this place was an absolute HIT! 🔥 The vibes were great, and most importantly the food was mouth-watering! I'll definitely go again and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone in the area or traveling to NYC.

Oh man, Miss Lily's is doing EVERYTHING right! I visited the Soho location and made a reservation online a week before. Since my family and I were finished with out activities for the day, I called Miss Lily's an hour and a half before our reservation time to ask if it was okay to come early and they were able to accommodate. If you're looking for endless vibes, good music and tasty food/drinks this is your place! We started off with some apps; the codfish fritters and the hot pepper shrimp. Both we're really good especially with the sauces. For drinks, I ordered a ginger beer, my sister ordered the pure passion margarita and my cousin ordered the duty wine sangria. Drinks were delish especially the pure passion. For our entrees, I had to get the vegetable roti which was AMAZING! My sister ordered the same thing with a side of mac and cheese. My cousin ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas and jerk french fries. Our food was phenomenal! Towards the end of our dinner, a DJ arrived playing the jams! These are the types of spot that make NYC. I loved my experience at Miss Lily’s and I can't wait to come back!

My dining experience at this location was horrific. I am very dissatisfied with the level of customer service and professionalism this establishment displays. Upon arriving at Miss Lily's, my party and I were seated and waited for approximately 15 minutes before we were greeted by our server/waitress, who was far from inviting. We began to place our drink order but had to revisit the menu, as they ran out of fountain drinks/soda. My sister, who initially requested a coke, ordered a organic juice instead. The waitress took another 20 minutes to come back and take our food order, which had to also be amended, as they ran out of pancakes. Although service was clearly lacking and I was mildly devastated about not being able to indulge in the pancakes I so badly wanted, I calmly ordered the chicken and waffles dish and continued to enjoy the company and conversations of my dining buddies. Thirty minutes later, a lady approaches our table and introduces herself as a manager. She informs us that they do not have chicken and waffles. My sister points to the item on the menu. The manager then says, "I mean we ran out of it". She then proceeds to explain that she is the manager for the new shift and that we needed to deal with it. At this time, we are agitated, as 3 out of 4 of us ordered this dish. Also, we notice that the table to our left ordered and received their chicken and waffle dishes, although they came in 30 minutes after us. In addition, we notice a server carrying a tray with a few plates of chicken and waffles that were for other guests, who also arrived after us. Our waitress never bothered to return to our table and was obviously not required to do so by management. The manager was unapologetic and cold. I will never visit this establishment again, as the level of customer service and is appalling. However, I would be remisced if I did not mention that I had a wonderful experience dining at Miss Lily's 7A. I cannot fathom that they are owned by the...

Sasha was craving chicken. GOOD chicken. I'm picky when it comes to my poultry. I don't want no weird bland dry chicken yo! Our Sunday journey to find food was leaving us parched... Exhausted.... Ready to call it quits. Hungover, little sleep, and a beaming sun in the streets of West Village makes for a very cranky Sasha.

"OH! Miss Lily's! You want jerk?" My lover half-excitedly suggest.

"Que?" (When I'm hungry I don't speak English) "Jerk chicken."

"OH. yeah sounds bueno."

He had been to ML many times but I hadn't so I trusted someone else with my food choice while I was at this point dying of starvation. As you Yelpers may know- trusting someone else to pick a place to eat while you're extremely hungry can go VERY well but sometimes may leave you hungrily wanting to choke the crap out of that person. & so I didn't know what to expect but I had the jerk chicken.

Jerk chicken was pretty good seasoned & cooked right, slightly charred but still juicy. Served with mango chutney, and a side salad. All very good. Flavor was on point. Chutney contrasted the jerk rub just right. Sweet and spicy. My fave combo! The chutney had a little too much ginger for my liking but it was good nonetheless.

The jerk chicken is usually served with rice & peas but my lover nicely asked me if I wanted veggies instead since I'm usually on my healthy ish (alcohol doesn't count though). I didn't know a fist fight would ensue as the woman didn't want to substitute the rice and peas for some kind of veggie. OK, OK there was no physical contact but she reluctantly substituted. Ambiance is awesome! Music consists of reggae and dance hall & made me want to dance while eating chicken. You know the usual.

Yes- They are overpriced but we have to take location into consideration. Overall solid place. As I'm an NYU student I would totally come back here, too bad these are not "broke Grad...
