This place is very cute aesthetically but it is criminally overpriced and you are definitely not going to receive value for what you pay. Food and drinks are ordered at the bar but they still expect full tips as though they are full service. However, the biggest issue is we were served an opened bottle and server said she used some to give out samples to other people but still charged us for the full bottle. Terrible, terrible form in the service industry. In addition, food portions are very small for high prices and the food isn't exceptional with limited options - 3 dishes (two small salmon sliders for $22). No happy hour and cheap wine is sold at premium prices ($12-$16 a glass). Perhaps they will come around to understanding regular business is the bread and butter of any restaurant and these prices will turn away regulars especially in a time when a recession is beginning. I haven't been in the day for coffee, perhaps that is more reasonable than the...
Read moreThis place is on my block. I was excited to finally see the space turned in to something after years and years of being empty. It’s a cute space. They only have wine. I haven’t eaten here, but they don’t seem to have a regular kitchen. All this is immaterial. My main problem with this place is they served my party an open bottle of wine, cheerily acknowledged that they had given samples out of the bottle to other guests, and charged us full price (which was, honestly, overpriced) for a whole bottle. I mean, it’s a wine bar; that’s just bad form. You don’t uncork a bottle and then sell it as a full bottle. Maybe it’s a better coffee shop? I haven’t been during the day. Anyway, maybe they’ll get their act together at some point, but in the meantime I’ll walk the extra half a block to the equally cute...
Read moreI don’t love writing negative or mixed reviews of businesses but had a really disappointing experience here. Ordered their prosciutto sandwich to go. Waited 40 minutes and it want very crowded but they provided no update on the sandwich. Then, they approach me and say there’s no prosciutto and ask if salami is okay. Put me in an awkward position, I just said fine but eating it now and it’s really bad. After waiting 50 minutes (took 10 more minutes after the salami switch up to actually make the 3-ingredient sandwich) for an 18!! dollar sandwich, I wouldn’t expected way more. Good coffee and like the bookstore element but will not...
