First off, we did not plan on going to Houlihan's. We got bad service at another restaurant, so we decided to leave it and ended up here. I'm glad we did!
We were greeted normally and seated promptly. The host staff seemed young, but they got the job done well. They sat us in a booth that was quiet. There were some crumbs on the floor but nothing out of the ordinary.
The waitress we had was phenomenal. We stated this was our first time here and she jumped right in to help us navigate the menu. She actually knew the items instead of the average "this is popular". The waitress was even kind enough to chit chat for a few minutes about health since she saw that my wife was traveling with a service dog. This is exactly the kind of experience that has us returning to a restaurant. We can get edible food anywhere and decent food most places, but the experience is what set this apart!
As for the food, we started with the house made fried cheese. It was a take on fried cheese sticks. The cheese wasn't fully mozzarella so that changed it up a bit. I ordered the 3-course meal with pan fried pork dumplings, stuffed chicken with sweet potato fries and mashed potatoes and finished with the brownie cake. The dumplings were great, and the sauces gave it a great kick. The stuffed chicken is stuffed then fried with what seemed to be the same breading as the fried cheese (a panko breading if I remember) and was good. The sweet potato fries were great as well and the horsy sauce added depth to it on the back of the pallet!
My wife is currently in heart failure so eating a full meal for her is not possible since she has so much fluid built up all the time. With that said, this is the most I've seen her eat in at least a month! She ordered the stuffed chicken with a side of alfredo. She actually ate half of the chicken breast!
We will gladly return to this restaurant and look out for the fantastic waitress that helped...

Sat in the patio, which is a nice place. There is lots going on in the area.
We were brought a menu but were interested in the happy hour menu. Our server told us they keep that hidden. Really?
We were then given the happy hour menu. We ordered chicken wings, a burger, mushrooms, and pot stickers. I think each item was 5$. The burger was very underwhelming and over priced even at a happy hour rate. The other items were ok but the portion size on the mushrooms and chicken wings were very small. The pot stickers were good, the dough was thin and tender. I couldn’t imagine paying full price for such small portions.
We ordered a 5$ Long Island and a 5$ sangria. Both drinks were quite large. The sangria tasted more like a wine spritzer than a true sangria but it was served with an extra small carafe of sangria. The Long Island was ok, definitely not top shelf, but hey it was only 5$.
We struck up a conversation with another couple sitting in the patio. The wife had ordered a scallop dinner and was quite upset at only receiving 2 1/2 scallops for the price of her meal. The server told her it’s by weight so the 3rd scallop was cut in half. Poor presentation if you ask me and another case of small portions for the price.
Service was ok, nothing special. We might consider stopping in again for happy hour drinks given the price point IF we aren’t hungry.
Food, not so much. Small portions are fine, but the price should reflect that and sadly it does not.
Deducted 2 stars for value, 1 star for keeping happy hour menu hidden and not telling customers...
Read moreWent here on Mother’s Day as it was the only restaurant in the area without a wait (for good reason apparently). Our server was friendly and patient with our children. Food wasn’t terrible, but the portions on a couple of the meals were ridiculous. I had a southwest chicken wrap and it maybe had 4 very small pieces of chicken, one single strip of red pepper, and the rest was lettuce. I was able to eat the entire thing in maybe 6 bites. My children got the extra kids cheeseburger, and were making fun of how small the burgers were. Understand they are sliders, but come on! My son, who happened to be celebrating his 4th birthday, didn’t get his grilled cheese until we were all done with our meals. The server billed us for the wrong glass of wine, which over charged us $7. This was resolved once we caught the error and brought it to the servers attention.
Someone, who I think was the manager asked how everything was and didn’t seem to care or offer anything such as a discount, more food, or anything when I politely shared my dissatisfaction. She also ignored us when we walked right by her as we left the restaurant (while they were very slow). With three kids we don’t go out often, and a big reason is because of this corporate type let down/rip off. My wife and I served food through high school and college and are not picky by any means, but know what a good (even reasonable) restaurant experience should be. Houlihans at HTC won’t be around much longer, which is sad because it was a good option years ago when they...
