I recently had an event at The Hook and Ladder. It was supposed to be for about 42 guest is total at event start time of 2:30. My guest get there at 2:30 and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is ready. We get told event was to start at 4:30 and I explain that I have a proof email from the GM that the event was to start at 2:30. I basically got blown off even after the email, we get no apologies. We had to wait 2 hrs before the food was served. I get asked what kind of pasta we want when it was supposed to have been in the “contract.” The whole venue is cold. I asked for someone to turn the heat on and it was never turned on until the second time I asked. NO ONE TAKES ACCOUNTABILITY of anything!!!! It’s just blaming me because the event was supposed to start at 4:30….. Then to make things worst I ask for forks and the kitchen staff comes out asking me IN SPANISH what was it that I needed because pero the manager on duty there was a language barrier!!! If you are Hispanic or Latino I suggest you stay away from this place! There was not enough food, they asked me what time was the event booked for? The tension between the staff and the guest is just awful. I understand things go wrong but the lack of accountability from this place was just INSANE. Even after I emailed the GM the email screenshots of our conversations she denies everything and puts the blame on me! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!! You are better off throwing a party outside in your backyard then to go to this place again! I dealt with Emily Ardito prior to this event and she was great!!! Their new staff is awful. We were celebrating a 40th birthday and I feel bad for the birthday girl because it was just bad! Then we were ready to pay and they tell us no payment will be taken because the GM wants to talk to us. I thought she would apologize and take accountability but NOOO SHE JUST CONTINUES TO LACK ACCOUNTABILITY AND TELLS ME ITS MY FAULT.

IF YOU ARE LATINO OR DONT PLAN TO BUY THE BIG PACKAGE THEY WILL NOT TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY! I HAD TO DO A FOLLOW UP EMAIL TO THEM 7 DAYS AFTER MY FIRST EMAIL TO SEE IF WE WOULD BE ABLE TO HOST THERE. OUR EVENT WAS ABOUT $2,000 and it was such an awful experience. NO WONDER THEY HAVE A RATING OF A “B” it should be an F.
