3.5-Star Review for Randy's Take Out Restaurant
Randy’s has been a spot my family and I have visited before, and we were excited to give their oxtails another try after some time away. Unfortunately, this visit was a bit disappointing. We ordered three plates of oxtail, and while the flavor was decent, the meat was tougher than we remembered—not quite the fall-off-the-bone tenderness we were hoping for.
That said, there were still some highlights! The rice was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and seasoned. The cold veg was also a standout, with a nice sweetness that set it apart from the usual coleslaw. The location is convenient, especially being right next to the Haitian bakery, which is a plus.
I will say, the price was fair—$60 for three plates and a drink is reasonable for the portion sizes, so no complaints there. However, there was a lingering, unpleasant smell inside—maybe from accumulated food odors or something worse—that was hard to ignore. Read moreHorrible horrible horrible, Do not I reply do not let this guy do catering of any sort for any event for anything. Horrible experience. He was booked for my friends baby shower 1 1/2 months in advances on March 25th. He changed her $800 dollars which she paid in advance with no issue, he was suppose to deliver the food at 5pm he showed up at 7:45 pm with no Sterners To keep the food warm no trays to put the food up. It was the most horrific experience ever, he had her guess eating cold food all night. She paid him haft the money in advance and decided she was gonna give him the other haft at the party. She decided he did not deserve the full amount of the other haft so she told him she was gonna give him haft of the $450 he argued with her and insisted that he wanted the full amount. Herself and her babys father decided to paid him the full amount and cut lose. Bad experience overall!!! I wouldn't even eat at his restaurant no more very slow and you have to literally wait 20 mins to 1 hour to get your food.......
Read moreUpdate: A year later and I still consistently take out from here. Their food is very authentic like my Jamaican farmer food. They are also now serving natural juices my favs Are The peanut punch, lemonade and pineapple ginger. Friendly owners and staff.
This is actually my go to, I’m here at daily or every other day... The food has been great very authentic. If your looking for AUTHENTIC JAMAICAN food this is a hidden gem. My favorites are their brown stew and their oxtail. I don’t care for their curry. Never really had an issue except this last week I went the rice was under cooked assuming I went to early or chef changed, but still unacceptable. I didn’t make it an issue no place is perfect. But I highly recommend...
