Hunan Wok — Restaurant in North Richland Hills

Where do I even begin with this place. I remember coming here a lot when I was a few years younger and always enjoying the food, but how the mighty have fallen. Took my fiancé here with promises of delish Chinese cuisine. Not only did her food taste as though they bought it from Walmart, it was simultaneously crunchy and chewy. She had the beef and broccoli, and the broccoli looked raw and had the texture of it as well. I went with what I remembered as my favorite, the double cooked pork. Granted, the pork was actually delectable. The vegetables were inedibly hard. I couldn’t even tell if they were over cooked or uncooked.

The rice we got with our meal was either reheated or over cooked. Not to mention we found a roach in mine, buried under the rice like some sick prank. Maybe that’s what cooked the rice.

The “egg rolls” we got with the meal were 100% store bought. They’re tiny like you’d get from a cheap box of spring rolls, which I suspect is what they actually are.

When we left, we did not leave a very sizable tip, about $3 maybe $4, not to mention my fiancé did not eat her plate nor take it to go so we paid for a meal we didn’t not eat, and I only ate the pork and the “egg roll” so we paid for another meal that was maybe 1/4 eaten. The lady running the place (manager maybe) ran out to my car as we were leaving and started to scream and yell at us for not leaving enough. I don’t think she knows how to count very well because she also said that 8+2 is $15.

She tried to get into my backseat and was threatening to call the police on us. She grabbed my seatbelt through my open window when I tried to drive away from her psychotic self. She almost broke my driver side mirror in the process, and I would’ve simply driven off but I did not want to hurt the lady. Eventually I just gave her more money, pretty much the rest of my cash.

At the end of the day this place is highway robbery AND will try to get every penny out of you to the point of assault and verbal assault. Do not come here, and do not order here. All it does is leave you disappointed and with god awful food. I’d rather eat gas...

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times before it was ok, good enough for a casual take home food I thought. I ordered an order to go on my way home from work tonight. I gave them a 15 minute heads up when I was coming. When I got there I waited another 15 minutes with out explanation why I was sitting there. Finally someone came out with my food and told me because I had a different area code, from another state, they did not make my food. Yes I do have another area code, but I live here, I have no desire to change my number that I've had since 2003... So I can order food and have it made for me when I order it. I was then asked again to pay for my food after I received it, I told her I have already paid, she proceeded to check that. Wow do I look like I am lying? I was wearing my hospital scrubs coming from a 12.5hr shift on Christmas Eve, while my husband and family are in a different state with out me. I leave, and get a phone call on my out of state phone number, letting me know they forgot my egg roll for me to come back and get it. By that time I was already peeved and said I don't want the egg roll any more. When I got home and had my food I thought it was bland and greasy. I will not be coming...

I ordered food tonight they told me 45 min. An hour goes by I call the driver is on the way. I wait 30 more minutes the food has still not arrived. Hello food poisoning.. I call they say we will give u 2 egg rolls next time u order. I'm like really I don't want the cold food I want a refund and if u want to keep me as a customer then u need to do what ever u need to do. So the manager Christina said ok we will remake ur food and have it sent out to you and give u a refund. Okay. So an hour and 45 minutes in to this the driver shows up with the cold food... I tipped the driver they gave him 6 orders some in Keller I'm in Hurst. The food is bad now. He leaves. Then he comes back a few minutes later and asks for the food back!!!! I called Christina and she said well we aren't going to give you the food for free... She refused to let my husband speak to the owners first she says she has permission then she says she doesn't...
