We went for dinner with friends but when we arrived we were surprised to find that it was carnaval night; which meant that after dinner the restaraunt turned into a dancing party event. It was a blast to experience. But first, the food was delicious. I've had Brazilian food before but this was really good. We ordered a bunch of different appetizers for the table instead of meals. This way we got to experience a little of everything. Only one of us ordered a whole meal which was the paella and according to him it was delicious and very savory and perfect meal size. We ordered a bunch of different drinks: caipirinha, passionfruit caipirinha, beers, and so on... the passionfruit caipirinha was amazing! My favorite was their picanha sliders and their pork belly. . The bork belly was so nice and crisp- perfection. Give it a try. The kitchen does close at a certain time and they do come around and advise ahead of time so you can place your last orders if you choose. Afterwards, they removed all of our tables and chairs, the music comes on and everyone just starts dancing. It was lovely to watch this culture love their culture the way they do. We had an amazing evening. Everyone speaks English perfectly. Everyone was super pleasant, our waiters/waitress were always around. We couldn't of asked for a better night. Thank you (Thru also have GF, vegetarian options and some of their meals do include cheese but I altered my own meals to be DF)

Located right off of west 46st street in between 5th and 6th ave, Ipanema was a fantastic option. I received such warm and amazing service there that I cant wait to go back next time I am in Manhattan. My waiter, Reinaldo, was absolutely friendly and attentive. He made me feel as if I was back in Rio de Janeiro, where people are happy and outgoing. As an appetizer you will receive small pieces of sliced bread and butter. I am a big fan of plain bread with butter so this was definitely a plus for me, not to mention that it was also delicious. I ordered the picanha plate and let me start by telling that one plate alone can easily feed two people. It came with 4 nice size pieces of sizziling picanha, white rice, black beans, french fries and fresh farofa. Everything was very delicious, however, their fries have to be the best fries I have ever eaten. It was just delicious! According to Reinaldo, the secret is on the cut, but I dont believe he would give the recipe away that easily. I was then convinced to have a piece of the famous brazilian desert “pudim” also known in america as flan. Turns out the piece was a huge piece but it was also delicious and I am so glad I had it. Very happy I went to Ipanema, great service, wonderful food and amazing staff. Will most certainly go back!

Met my friend there for an early-ish dinner, at 5pm on a Friday. We were seated right away, but the place filled up quickly, so I'd imagine there are times you'd have to wait for a table. My friend had steak and potatoes, topped with a fried egg; I had one of that day's specials: a coconut-curry chicken, with white rice and black beans. My friend cleaned her plate and I enjoyed, but couldn't finish, my meal, so I packed my leftovers to go. I've had Indian, Thai, Japanese, Trinidadian and Jamaican curries. This one was good, not great, but those black beans could rival the best Cuban black beans I've had. We struggled to order dessert because everything was soft: a selection of 6-8 puddings, mousses, milk-soaked cake/cookies, and custards/flans. (Neither my friend nor I are particularly fond of soft things.) We settled for the custard/tart that comes in a crispy, croissant-like pastry, and that was delicious. To drink, we each had a Brazilian margarita, and those were very tasty. Service was great, our waiter was helpful, explaining/describing certain dishes, answering questions, and he was patient as we took a long time to decide/order.

If you're in NY, you have to try this place. It's Brazilian, Latin, Portuguese cuisine. Unfortunately, I can't remember the names of the dishes, but i'll do my best to describe them. I had the NY strip steak with fries (sliced round and flat) covered in gravy and served with a fried egg on top (yes...let that gooey yolk run all over). Needless to say, that dish was amazing. The steak was nice and juicy. Tender. Enough gravy to dip every bite in. The potatoes were also very delicious. And the runny egg is always a thing of beauty. Also ordered this black bean stew-like dish that has sausage, pork, and other meats that i can't remember. Served with rice. It was so hearty and flavorful. Perfect for chilly weather. My bro had a NY strip steak topped with shrimp and crabmeat and cheese. And my sis ordered a NY strip steak with chimichurri. Both excellent dishes (of course we all tasted each other's fish haha). For dessert, a flan cheese cake....don't ask...just order it and thank me later. Do not miss this place.

Located in the Little Brazil neighborhood in Midtown manhattan, this is a cozy spot that locals enjoy. Check your coat at the host stand and snuggle into a large booth at the back and reconnect with family and/or friends over a craft cocktail and the delicious cheese bread rolls. I had the skirt steak with chimichurri and chips. I ordered the steak medium rare and it came out medium and a little tepid. I think this is because it was awaiting the other 4 orders to finish. Have to order veggies as a side and they are totally worth it! Beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. Not over cooked at all. Noone rushed us so we took our time and had a nice catch up. Also the food took a LONG time. The service is impeccable however. All in it is a nice spot, but since I'm rarely in NY I would rather to have spent that amount of money on a WOW meal than a meh one.
