02/04/2025 (Tue) It had been years since our last visit, but we noticed that the walls now have a stylish design, and the menu has been revamped, making it easier to navigate. Hawaiian music was playing, giving the place more of a Hawaiian vibe rather than a typical teriyaki spot. We ordered #22 Udon with Tempura Shrimp ($15.25), #15 Curry Chicken ($10.95), and #S8 Egg Roll ($3.75). The curry wasn’t like a typical Japanese curry rice—it lacked the strong curry flavor. While it was tasty as a dish on its own, it might not satisfy someone craving curry. The udon had a soy sauce-based broth, which I liked, but the soup was quite salty. The staff was friendly and pleasant woman, which made the experience even better. Overall, we had a good impression of the place. The only downside was that the complimentary water had an unpleasant taste, which was a bit disappointing. 02/05/2025 (Wed) The next day, we wanted to try more dishes, so we ordered #16 Shrimp Fried Rice ($15.50), #S5 Teriyaki Chicken, and #S7 Steamed Potstickers (10 pieces, $10.75). The shrimp fried rice was packed with large shrimp, making it very satisfying. The teriyaki chicken had a nice charred flavor, similar to Hawaiian huli-huli chicken—it was delicious! As for the potstickers, many teriyaki places only serve fried dumplings, so I was happy to find steamed ones here.🤤 02/11/2025 (Tue) #1. Teriyaki Chicken Yakisoba ($12.99) #14. Bibim Bap ($16.75) Soda ($2) 04/15/2025 (Tue) Combo #8. Teriyaki Chicken + Beef + Fried Rice The beef was a bit too salty, but the chicken had that amazing charred flavor...
Read moreDon't listen to Lauren Burr, she sounds like she has no respect for the quality that restaurants provide in their services. Whether she may have liked it or not, she worded it out that the restaurant is terrible rather than actually providing any constructive criticism for the food she ate.
What if I would have enjoyed that veggie yakisoba? I maybe enjoyed the taste and call it good while maybe the environment was okay-ish. Or vice-versa, food was okay but the environment was great.
I personally find this restaurant great as I speak this for eating here several times as I have ate at many different places. The service was nice as it is a family owned restaurant and the cashier was friendly. I enjoyed the traditional environment as it is not modern and crowded like instagram-esque of people pulling their phone out on snapchat to brag the modern design they surround themselves in.
The food was great. It's not the greatest, but it's no the worst either. This place provided the convenience of the quality it tries to provide locally and does not necessarily purposely try to make it bad as I pay for the price it can provide for its marginal profit.
If I wanted a super amazing food, wouldn't have I gone to a restaurant that dedicates to the highest quality and expectation it claims to be and would state its policy to make sure that we'd enjoy the food? I would have, but instead I resorted to convenience of this location and the food it could provide.
Thank you for the hard work and food, keep up...
Read moreI went there with my son and his wife. It was my first time there. I left HIGHLY disappointed!
I had ordered their Shrimp Tempura plate and a diet Pepsi (I'm diabetic). When the plate arrived I immediately noticed that it did not look like the picture on their display. Turns out, instead of flattened out, whole prawns, I got three, thin strips dunked in so much batter that it was uncooked on the inside.
Along with them were a load of deep fried vegetables; everything was so greasy that I at first used a napkin to soak up as much grease as I could before I could eat them because of the uncooked breading!
And when degreasing wasn't enough, I ended up just pulling the bread off, this is when I discovered the the breading was raw on the inside of most of the meal; also, some of the vegetables were stale and recooked making them extra greasy.
I paid good money for that meal ($10.90) and being the kind of person I am I started to demand my money back by showing them my plate full of discarded breading!! BUT--I kept my cool and just left because I did not want to upset my son and daughter.
I ended up taking home my son's Chicken Teriyaki because surprisingly; it was delicious!!
So, I have mixed feeling about this place; because of the horrible Tempura meal, but delicious teriyaki chicken, so I give them one star because I do deserve...
