Verona's Pizza & Wings — Restaurant in Orlando

I have been ordering from Verona’s for over 4 years. I have NEVER gotten bad food. The food is ALWAYS MADE PERFECTLY! They are so consistent, you know what you’re going to get when ordering here. My favorite is their Buffalo Wings and they never disappoint. They are cooked perfectly every time, not too crunchy not too soggy. They are generously sized and the sauce is the best flavor I’ve ever had (Buffalo medium). The pizza is a must have if you like authentic NY style. I’ve introduced Verona’s to every one of my friends and they have all fallen in love with this place. It’s not a place for eating in as it’s more of a to go/delivery place. Nothing fancy about the restaurant itself. Their focus is clearly on the food quality and that’s what I care about. The customer service has always been good for me. I’m respectful to them and that’s probably why. I’ve read other reviews on this subject and I have to say I’ve seen some interactions in the restaurant with the many young drunk patrons late night and I imagine that can be tough to deal with as a food service worker. Stopped by to get a slice of pizza, had a terrible experience. I asked the employee if there was a deal or combo for a slice of pizza and a drink. He laughed at me and informed me this is downtown everything's expensive here. Okay, so I guess you don't want to sell me a soda? I don't know of another Pizza joint downtown that doesn't have an everyday combo for slice and a drink.

Just a moments later as I'm trying to digest the inner turmoils of this business that are already apparent, I witness a different employee screaming at a third employee, who is an old man, over the way he was stacking boxes. I've never felt so disgusted to be the current patron of a business in my life. The way this guy was treating the old man can only be described as the way an alcoholic, abusive father treats his child. "how many times are we going to have to have this conversation, how many times do I have to tell you blah blah blah"

There are MUCH better pizza shops downtown. Extreme LACK of customer service. The older man taking orders was very rude, not nice at all. We should've walked out as soon as he decided to speak BUT we gave it a chance. We've been here many times before - it's located right near the clubs. Looking at the sauce underneath the cheese, we could tell that the sicilian pizza was clearly old. Probably sitting out for hours. The Bianca pepperoni slice was undercooked and soggy. We chose upstairs seating and immediately you can smell the old carpet, and what looks like water damage and mold on the ceiling and walls. Cushion seats are all torn up and damaged.
