I would like to first state that the food and atmosphere was very nice. Very modern and cute. However, there were some unfortunate issues that I hate to report but it must be said. Reservation made 1.5 weeks ago, and was never told there was going to be a large party. Specifically requested main dining room based on pictures and hostess jotted me down. Yesterday they called and stated they had a large party booked a few weeks ago and had to move us, I agreed because I didn’t want to cancel my party the day before! We sat by the door in a corner. No windows but still was a fairly pleasant atmosphere. Got seated and Hostess/waitress stated we were suppose to book a “high tea experience” as they are different types reservations. We were coming for a high tea experience and apparently I’m suppose to say so when I call. Not sure as a brand new customer how I am suppose to know to book a specific type of reservation. Your establishment is suppose to ask, “what tea experience do you plan to do” so they can book accordingly. They ended up giving us the high tea experience but was not a good experience unfortunately. THEY GAVE ME A PLATE WHICH HAD A PIECE OF CHEWING GUM! Asked the manager to change my plate out politely, he did not apologize and I never got a plate. I just used my regular tea cup plate. They served a huge pot of tea but with 1 tea bag, tea was weak. We ordered 3 types and none were good even after we waited for it to brew properly of course. We had to change out our tea few times but still not well brewed. They brought milk, but only 2 of those half and half little plastic containers like an ihop which is unacceptable for a high tea experience. Usually milk comes in fine china just like the rest of the cups and plates. We asked them to bring and so they did bring in an appropriate milk pourer. Peach Bellini was ordered but the sweet nectar part and Prosecco was not stirred. Appeared as water with oil type of separation. We asked waitress, she said to stir it. Quite a fine experience when you have to stick a plastic straw in your champagne glass. They stated that’s the way they serve it, so that’s ok, we accepted that. Very unapologetic about the entire situation We asked for some sort of compensation and didn’t demand how much we wanted, just wanted to ease the blow of the afternoon. After all, the high tea experience we booked was $30-35 per person, not really inexpensive, therefore our standards and expectations will be higher due to price. Owner kept going back and forth with me justifying their actions. He should have instead profusely apologized immediately, gave us a discount and let us be on merry way. Not a good sign when you are going back and forth with a customer, I would think as an owner, “I just want to make these customers happy and get them out.” He asked me, “what do you think I should do” after all the issues. He asked as well, “how much should he take off.” We stated take off what you think is acceptable. Finally he reduced the bill a little and then asked for gratuity which we did not provide. We are all gracious tippers, I definitely believe in tips for a job well done. We finished our payment and now after all of this we went to use the bathroom, overheard the staff talking about us, stating how upset they were about no gratuity. Well you served extremely weak tea, disgusting gum on my plate, and 2 little milk plastic containers, stuck us in the corner as we didn’t have a choice because you told us the day before we had to be moved. Very unprofessional, we know you will talk about us, but some advice, wait till we leave! Overall we were treated poorly. It is really sad for any one in customer service to assume a customer does not know what something is, I really hope they didn’t think this way. We have all done high tea, some of our guests have been around the world to experience high tea. I was embarrassed that I brought them to this establishment. I’m hoping this review helps...
Read moreTLDR: Tried to order lunch at Queens Tea House in Parkland and was told we were not worth their time unless we spent $300. Then told to “go try starbucks.”
I had a TERRIBLE experience at Queens Tea House in Parkland today. I’m still in shock but thought I would share to spare anyone from this in the future. I decided to take my daughter mother and grandmother for a cute valentines afternoon. I don’t eat all of the sandwiches but I looked online and saw they had a lunch menu with salads which was perfect. I made the reservation and was running 10 min behind so I decided to call and let them know. Unfortunately, there is NO WAY to speak to an actual person on the phone!
When we arrived we were seated. As I began to order the waitress told me that they did not have the lunch menu today, although annoyed because now I didn’t really have a lunch, I told her that was fine that I would have a mimosa and a croissant instead, my daughter would have the children’s tower tea and my mother and grandmother would also do tea with croissants. This order would probably total $150. The waitress then told me that I NEEDED to order a tea special at $55/person. I told her I did not eat all of those things and was planning on having a salad but since that was not an option I just wanted a mimosa and a croissant. The waitress then took our order and left.
After about 15 minutes of sitting there a woman came out, I’m assuming the manager or owner, and rudely told us again that we NEEDED to order a tea special. I explained to her that we wanted the lunch special and no where was it listed online, social media or even a person who could have told me that they were not serving the lunch menu when I tried to call. The lunch menu was literally in my hands and I was not told I couldn’t have the salad until I tried to order it.
This women then told us that it’s not “WORTH HER TIME to serve us unless we did the special”. I told her that we would take our business somewhere else. As we were walking out the woman told us to “go try Starbucks”.
The place was completely empty except for a little party in the back. Really surprised they would be turning...
Read moreI would NOT recommend this venue. (In their response below, they claim that they reviewed security cameras, so not only do they value a strict timeline over customer service, but they also lie!!!! I have several witnesses who saw their staff member bump into the table, which caused a gift---an expensive bottle of wine to crash on the floor.) AVOID this overpriced place. They have zero integrity.
My Aunt graciously hosted a bridal shower for me this past weekend, and unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by poor service and a lack of professionalism. We had a party of 22 adults and 3 children—hardly a small event, and one that came with a significant expense.
From the moment we arrived, we felt more like a burden than valued guests. At one point, a staff member knocked into the gift table, causing a bag with a bottle of expensive wine to fall and shatter. Not only did no one apologize, but there was also no offer to replace or compensate for the broken gift. The staff simply cleaned up the glass and moved on as if nothing had happened.
Our assigned waitress was especially rude. She repeatedly pressured my Aunt to keep everything strictly on a “two-hour timeline,” interrupting conversations and rushing guests through courses. Guests were still enjoying themselves—standing, chatting, and drinking—when the staff began clearing tables around us. My mimosa was taken while it was still ¾ full, without even a word.
By 1:00 p.m.—exactly 90 minutes in—they began making comments about needing to “get ready for the next party.” While all our guests were standing and clearly wrapping up, the waitress continued to make passive-aggressive remarks and hovered until we were essentially pushed out the door.
Instead of gratitude for bringing in a large group, we were treated with impatience and disrespect. If you're planning a celebration or group gathering, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. This place clearly values a strict schedule more than the actual...
