So this place used to be Watusi II, and then it was New Tavern. I had the hellish experience of hosting karaoke at New Tavern (see my review here on Yelp.) When I heard that less than a year later it had yet another new owner and name, I was reluctant to come back, but a colleague of mine was hosting karaoke Thursday night so I went over. I'm glad I did!
Gone was the sketchy, somewhat violent crowd from my previous experience. Instead there was a diverse crowd relaxing and having a somewhat quiet time. The center square bar is gone and now there's just a bar along one wall which makes it feel bigger. The back area is no longer torn up but instead finished with great lighting and seating. The staff was not just polite but fun, and prices on drinks were totally reasonable. I didn't have occasion to eat any of the food.
Highly recommend this new iteration and will definitely come back for...

Tried AGAIN yesterday because the 1st time was so good & thought maybe: eh, maybe that was just an “off day” with the injera. You can tell that she loves what she does and the food is amazing. My favorite dish is the Yesom Fitfot, I stop by once a week as a way to treat myself.
