BEST ETHIOPIAN FOOD IN PHILLY!!!! Hands down! Great vegan and vegetarian options! Very delicious and well seasoned. The owner is very kind and nice and makes her food from the heart. You can tell that she loves what she does and the food is amazing. My favorite dish is the Yesom Fitfot, I stop by once a week as a way to treat myself. Very delicious, great art work, and seating areas for people who would like to dine in. Her playing presentation is great also! Definitely come stop by and get something! Perfect for anytime.

Absolutely love this spot. Abyssinia was my go to but I got some not so great service and some not even lukewarm to the touch chicken when I last went, so I decided to check this place out instead and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Seems to be a family business and the level of care we received dining tonight was awesome. Good portions were great as well as the prices. This is my new go to.

The food was ok, the beef and chicken were overcooked. There is no bar as stated. It is byob and the staff are extremely friendly, they explained everything too us and answered any questions we had. I probably won't go back. I went for the experience and it was ok.

So this place used to be Watusi II, and then it was New Tavern. I had the hellish experience of hosting karaoke at New Tavern (see my review here on Yelp.) When I heard that less than a year later it had yet another new owner and name, I was reluctant to come back, but a colleague of mine was hosting karaoke Thursday night so I went over. I'm glad I did!

Gone was the sketchy, somewhat violent crowd from my previous experience. Instead there was a diverse crowd relaxing and having a somewhat quiet time. The center square bar is gone and now there's just a bar along one wall which makes it feel bigger. The back area is no longer torn up but instead finished with great lighting and seating. The staff was not just polite but fun, and prices on drinks were totally reasonable. I didn't have occasion to eat any of the food.

Highly recommend this new iteration and will definitely come back for...

I’ve ordered from here 3xs; food was great the 1st time. However, the 2nd time, injera tasted weird like maybe it was old…? Tasted sour, like cardboard box maybe…? Tried AGAIN yesterday because the 1st time was so good & thought maybe: eh, maybe that was just an “off day” with the injera. Sadly, the rice yesterday was essentially wet mush: overcooked & odd on the tongue. I was VERY disappointed. It’s sad when restaurants are hit or miss; I thought I found a new Ethiopian spot. ☹️ Scared to order from here again & won’t be; 1:2 aren’t great odds when spending a good...
