Annabel's Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Phillipsburg

Booked for my baby shower 3 months in advance with a deposit to hold the room down. 3 weeks before my event, they told me the original room I booked was no longer available and to upgrade me to the grand ballroom . I was a little bummed out but understood things happen. This new room was huge for the amount of guests I had (30-35) but I settled in 3 days before my event, came that night to start decorating for my baby shower. Had table cloths set up, banners, game tables, partying gift bags all layed out on the table, chips & soda situated, dessert table set up etc. I spent 3 hours that night to make everything look perfect. As I’m cooking the next day at home for my baby shower event, I get a call from the event organizer that I need to call her asap. She tells me the next morning that now the grand ballroom is double booked for a bridal party event to hold 100 people the same day as mine. I told her I’m not moving my room again, THIS IS THE 2ND ROOM YOU ARE MOVING ME OUT OF. I just decorated and set up everything LAST NIGHT and booked this 3 MONTHS AGO! She tells me, I either have to accept moving to the restaurant to do my baby shower or they won’t take me. Now this is 2 DAYS before my baby shower, I’m 8 MONTHS PREGNANT, have 30-35 people expecting to come this location. I feel I’m stuck. They begin to take down all my decorations off themselves I worked so hard to set up and place them in a storage closet. I end up cancelling 1 DAY before my event and go there to collect all my belongings they took out of the room I PAID FOR and DECORATED. The owner is there watching us as I unload multiple trips from their storage closet to my car in pouring rain during a massive thunderstorm. My baby shower decorations got soaked, table cloths I had were ripped with holes in them. I felt as if I was in a movie during all this. This is not real life. There’s no way people can run a business this way. But it was reality I was facing. These people are inconsiderate and selfish. They only care about MONEY. Don’t book here for ANYTHING! If you do, they may swap your whole event around to accommodate someone else bringing in more money / guests than you. I’m lucky I didn’t give birth early from all this STRESS this place caused me. By far the worst restaurant I’ve ever stepped foot in… We booked a room in FEBRUARY for a baby shower that was supposed to happen in MAY. We had 30 guests coming and 2 days before the shower we get kicked out of their room because someone was having a bridal shower with 100 people. (THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY) They then moved us to another room and we were fine with it. We went there (still 2 days before) and my sister went there to decorate for 3 hours. Then they call and kick us out of that room too. AFTER she spent ALL THAT TIME DECORATING , they ripped EVERYTHING DOWN, and stuffed everything in their office which caused a hole in the table clothes and party favor bags were damaged . They said we could do the shower in the restaurant, WHICH HAD NO SPACE the chef wouldn’t even close the place while we did the shower. So people would be able to march on over whenever they wanted to sit down and eat while the shower was happening.. NO PRIVACY AT ALL. While we were figuring out everything in the restaurant, one of the workers there came in DRUNK!!! We decided to cancel and thankfully we found another place and they made us take ALL the decorations out of the office in a THUNDERSTORM!! My sister is 8 months pregnant and wanted her to move the tables and carry ALL the decorations out while the owner sat and watched and sipped on Orange juice im the kitchen watching us not even helping My mom had empty boxes to throw away that the decorations were in, and they didn’t even have a garbage there. They made my mom take it TO THE DUMPSTER and she’s 65 and has knee, and back problems. The stairs she had to walk up and down were wooden, and crooked she ALMOST FELL. WORST EXPERIENCE,...

I was here on 1/11/25 for a birthday party. I live in town and never would have stopped here because of the location. I just do not pass that way. As I entered this restaurant I could smell the clean in the air. I am 43 and have waitressed half my life. When you are a neat freak like me yes you can “smell clean”. The pizza was served and I was sold immediately. My 2 kids who also attended the party “ the picky committee” they ate 2 slices each 👀. The pizza was delicious! 10/10 I recommend this place!

Because the pizza was so bomb and the restaurant so clean and it being Saturday I figured why not order 2 meals for dinner for myself and my partner. I ordered Penne with Vodka sauce and Shrimp & Scallops with Peas and Sundried tomatoes. So flavorful, I can tell the Seafood is super fresh! If I had any constructive criticism it would be the shrimp dinner was a little oilier than I would like but I believe that is the heavy cream and not much can be done with that. I probably just need to order a different sauce in the future. Still good like I said constructive criticism! I am posting pictures. Apparently a birthday works well in this space.
