Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Pineville

The name “Famous Dave’s” seems to be presumptuous especially seeing how there is this one and only location. It must be locally famous. I have recently, in Dec, went to Texas for 3 weeks and had BBQ at least once a week. Places like Pecan lodge, Hutchins, Goldee’s, and Hard Eight. Mostly in Dallas. I tried to get the same thing at each location to compare each, brisket, pulled pork, and mixed in third choice of ribs, sausage, and burnt ends. Here at Famous Dave’s I had brisket, rib tips and jalapeño sausage. 1lb each. In comparison of all these in TX I have to say the brisket was as good if not better, the sausage was not spicy with japs at all, and the rib tips were very good.One Disclosure: may have made all the difference is I received my order as soon as they opened on a Friday morning 11am. I suspect this may have made a difference but I I’m not certain it would be different later on in the evening. For example at Hard Eight we got there around 5pm to beat the crowd and the brisket was dry. Any way spice up the sausage and I think you are well on your way to being famous. Please consider expanding down to Cola SC. I stay in the Harbison/ Irmo area and would love to have a place like this near by. I think all these Maurice’s besides the Original location are not great. And Mission bbq is new to Harbison but needs real competition. Also it would be great if your customers could buy 1/2 to 1lb weighed portions instead of a full pound each. Holy smoked Meats! What a delicious, sweet, tangy, tasty experience! Deliciously surprising! Do to poor experiences with BBQ ribs in the Charlotte area, I had sworn off ribs, years ago. Upon arrival I was apprehensive. My first rule for gauging the quality of a restaurant's food is how packed the parking lot is. This place was empty. But we had made the ride, so we went on in. After looking over the menu we ordered the $75 combo. This came with 1 rack of ribs, 1 smoked chicken(quarted), 1.pound of pulled pork, 3 large side, grilled corn on the cob and 6 of the sweetest cornbread muffins you will ever eat. My wife is a rib eater. She managed to get one off of the rack. One little sample was all it took to revive the rib eating monster that I used to be. I finished the rack as she looked on in disbelief. When I was done with the ribs and with my taste buds still reeling from that delicious sauce I grabbed up a smoked chicken breast quarter. This chicken was tender and moist, it slid right off the bones. Smoky and delicious. So tasty in fact that I didn't bother adding that mouth watering sauce. The pulled pork was so well seasoned we didn't bother adding sauce to it either. Overall we had a wonder dining experience. DON’T EAT HERE PLEASE! I will never ever eat here again and I don’t encourage anyone else to either. We ordered food from there to be delivered to our home and when we open the platter a mouse pops out of the platter like he was dying for air, runs across my kitchen counter and sent the whole house in an uproar. That was super nasty 🤢. Which tells me they have an infestation of mice because how in the heck does a mouse get in a platter and closed up in there without anybody seeing it???? Well anyway I go back to the restaurant to tell the manager my experience and she flat out told me I was lying to my face that she has never seen a mouse in her restaurant. Like ma’am now YOU’RE lying because it’s food service, how have you never seen a mouse??? But you definitely don’t allow one to get delivered to anyone’s home. Moving on, when I got upset about her telling me I was lying, told me she was calling the police if I don’t leave. I understand you being embarrassed about it but that wasn’t a way to handle that. Crazy thing is that I have been eating there for years!!!!🤢 Famous Dave’s y’all are gross and have lost me forever, no matter the location, and I have been spreading the news about this location.
