Harry's. Just wow. How to start... I gave this one star review only because I need to leave at least one to write a review. If it would be up to me I'd give less. I write this review in hopes for a positive change. I came into Harry's because my usual place was closed. Instantly it hit me. The whole place smelled of mildew. The curtains where adorned with clumps of dirt and water stains. Behind the counter was a mess. The whole place felt off. The server was much more than unhappy to be there, an I understand that, but my customer service rating would be important to Harry's service. After I sat down I ordered coffee, two side servings of hash browns, and an egg over easy. (Cooked whites with yolk kind of runny) Hoping the food would be more than enough to put me to ease about the horrible environment. It made everything worse. The egg whites where raw and egg yolk cold, the hash browns where more like mashed potatoes with a burnt crust. Anyone who knows how to cook knows that this reaction is because the oil was much to hot. The coffee tasted old, and weak. But I honestly didn't expect more from that. After I had a few bites I went to use the bathroom. And I thought I was repulsed before... The bathroom was undescribably disgusting. Clean just enough to use, not clean enough to dare try. The whole experience was a disgrace. I will not be eating there again unless new management is...
Read moreBoyfriend isn’t very adventurous when traveling or dining out. For some reason he trusted me to lick for once. Despite directions taking us to the back door (very sketchy for my boyfriend….thought for sure he’d veto it at this point….he did ask if I’d rather get a sack of breakfast sandwiches at nearby fast food). We walked though the kitchen to get in and I saw his face was very doubtful. But then he saw the prices and the selection. He was so pleasantly surprised. When we come through next year, we will definitely stop again. He had ham and a huge short stack served with a creamer pitcher of hot syrup. He’s a big guy and couldn’t finish it all. I got to enjoy a bite of his flavorful ham. It was tender and delicious. I had the veggie omelet. I didn’t love it, but it wasn’t bad. I had the homemade toast. It was unique and good. I also got to finish off his pancakes which were a little heavy in my opinion…..but that was because they were made by scratch rather than from a mix. I’m not used to that. Service was good and brought back memories of helping out a friend with her restaurant back...
Read moreI would have given this a half a star but it won't let me... or maybe even no star... I can't judge everyone on the performance of one waitress. However, asking what we wanted and she did not write anything down and I thought "huh, maybe she is talented and I got a good one..." But No. She got my order wrong and the eggs were over done. (MAYBE the cooks fault there. However, my food was cold so it sat there and was not brought while it was warm, so at the point, solid yoke is not surprising) we had a long drive ahead of us and we were hungry were were just gonna choke it down. BUT She asked if we needed anything else, I started with Tabasco then she walk away and did not even give us silverware. But that's not all.... I asked her if my bread was the rye bread toast I asked for and it was not. Needless to say I did not get my toast until I was standing up to leave so I said no thanks to the other guy that broughtit out... and left. I hope the other waitresses have more training.... I thought this place has a good rep... but. Not with me. Good luck! If you choose...
