Pho Ocean — Restaurant in Pompano Beach

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PLACE FOR FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! The moment I walked in I felt unwanted and as if I was annoying the waitress due to way she was staring at me with disgust in her eyes. Mind you all I did was walk in and look at the takeout menu trying to decide if I was going to dine in or do take out and ultimately decided to dine in. I ordered the grilled chicken pho and it came out quickly but it was terrible. The broth was extremely bland and very greasy. It tasted similar to if not worse than a value brand can of low sodium broth that you could buy at any grocery store. The chicken was extremely rubbery, coated with some sauce and clearly was not grilled.

While I contemplated on sending it back, I chose not to and simply flagged down the waitress to ask for some salt and pepper. As I did that I noticed a small dead bug in my cup of water. I asked her if she could also bring me a new cup of water because this one had a bug in it and she acted as if I was insulting her and grabbed the cup so aggressively that it spilled water on the table. She started to walk away and quickly turned around with the biggest attitude and yelled "Bottle Water!?!" And I said no another cup of water would be fine thank you and she just turned around and threw the cup into this dish/bowl thing she had by the register.

She completely ignored me after that, never brought me a new water nor any table seasoning. She never checked up on me once. Not only that but she was incredibly rude and impersonal to a latin family just a few tables over as she was being rude and impersonal to me. She was only nice to what seemed to be another Vietnamese woman that dined in to the far right of me and a Caucasian guy who sat separately and directly in front of me. There was a total of 4 tables she was serving which were the only occupants in the restaurant.

After about 1/4 of the way into me eating the pho I couldn't do it anymore because it started to make me feel nauseous (I feel worse now as I type this). I didn't even want the rest of my pho so I got up to just pay and leave to come and find out she already printed my check before me getting up to pay. I just knew that I'd be writing this review so I paid in cash to not have any issues with my credit card so I would never have to call or go-to this establishment again.

This was by far one of my worst restaurant experiences to date. I should have known because I read some of the negative reviews on goggle and it literally is everything that I just wrote. Do not go here. It's a complete waste of time. I can't say that this woman was racist but me as a black man who was treated noticeably different and observing the same treatment towards a Latin family but not the Caucasian guy and Veitemnanse woman I wouldn't be...

I wish I could give 0 stars tbh, I’m Asian, I. Been to a lot of Asian restaurants so I understand the not speaking English part, but from service to food was absolutely disgusting, if my toddler wasn’t hungry, I would have walked out when food arrived. We were the only customers in the restaurant. Didn’t greet us, I ask “just sit anywhere” no response so we sat. Waited a good 10 minutes and then waitress finally came over. I ordered the summer rolls and seafood pho for us. Summer roll wasn’t bad, simple. The pho different story, smelled bad like either the veggies or the seafood were spoiled, & broth was very oily & noodles over cook. we both took couple sips and that was all. On top of that the waitress not only give bad service she was rude, of course I’m sharing the pho with my baby girl, so I asked for a bowl and plastics & scissors (usually pho restaurants give extra bowl, plastics & scissors if you have children with you). She slams the bowl and gave nothing else so I asked again and she told me they don’t have plastics nor scissors. My bill was $27 something, I’m from the north and I never paid that much for pho & summer roll so it’s pricey for such a disgusting meal, I gave her $40, she returns $28…. Now I normally tip 50% or more (being I work in the tipping industry) but since she just kept my coin change without asking, that was her tip. You can say I left the table full of food. I should have read the reviews before coming here but it is the closest pho restaurant to my hotel. So much more I can say, but I was not happy and still not. So please google, add in 0 stars, and the 4.2 stars rating on here...

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! RUDEST AND DISRESPECTFUL WAITRESS EVER!!!! We have been coming to this restaurant for the last 3 years and my husband and i moved from California where we first try pho years ago, it’s our go for Vietnamese food so we know how the meat texture/taste should be. Today we came back after few months and had the usual pho Thai, as I was digging in my bowl the meat had a soft texture and horrible taste/smell , I throw it out of my mouth and when i touch it with my fingers was like a paste, started digging and taking meat out of the bowl and the same, it was rotten meat. I call the server and she played dumb, asked her to call for her husband who’s the owner and the one at the kitchen and she said he was busy (there were only us and a Vietnamese lady at another table) she turned her back and ignores us. I waited and after a long 20 min he finally came didn’t wanna recognized what was in front of him just saying all the time it was the same meat, meantime his wife was yelling in the back speaking Vietnamese to her husband, making faces at us and hissing at me aggressively giving us creepy faces with wide open eyes, at some point I though she was going to throw something at me. At the end he bring the check and was charging for extra beers that we didn’t have. Worst experience ever, I can agreed to some of the reviews here saying she is racist, there was a Vietnamese lady behind us and the treat was completely different. Don’t waist your money.
