McDonald's — Restaurant in Portland

Pretty good place. Last time i was here there was a lady waking up thru the drive thru. No car, on foot. It's was raining. I offered her a chance to get in my car so she wouldn't get soaked. After i spoke i realized my error. Then we chatted a moment. I pulled up to pay and told the clerk i wanted to pay for hers. He looked out the window and told me she hasn't ordered yet. I turned my body around and asked what she wanted. She only asked for a sandwich. I pleaded a few times with her and get her a meal. Then she said this is for my mom. She giggled as she recalled her mom eating the fries. She started her mom usually gives her the fries. Out of now where i asked when's the last time she ate. She said two days ago. I offered to go grocery shopping with her but you could tell it didn't sit right with her. I get it. I just wish the reasons i fought in those wars could've shown us to be better than the day before. I looked at the clerk and asked him to take my card. I've worked fast food before so when i saw a manager there i assumed he was counting down the drawer. The clerk said here you go sir your card back. I asked what the total was so later i wouldn't be confused. He said both of you are getting free meals today. Sir are a good man for offering to pay. I teared up instantly and told the clerk thank you for what you've done to. Then i got my food and left. I know it's normal but i tell you helping that lady out and then the clerk and what he did for us made this already loyal customer even more loyal. Now I'm on a mission. I'm trying to see how many ways i can volunteer for the community. The clerk's act really...

So normally I wouldn't write a post of this nature but this time it's different. Now where to begin. I've tried eating here a number of times since I used to work in the area and every time the level of service has been the same. Depending on which individual who is helping you, the service will be great or terrible. It's fast food, I don't expect much. Take my order, take my money, give me food. Pretty simple. The food here is hit or miss. Sometimes it is exactly what you expect from a McDonald's restaurant and others I wouldn't even feed the mess to an animal. Tonight was something different. I walked in, got my food, sat down and ate while playing on my phone. I was only in there for 15-20 minutes. They have a sign on the wall stating you aren't allowed to be there for longer than 30 (sketchy part of town), so I was well within my time limit. I walk outside to get into my car, and much to my surprise, the car was gone. At first I panicked thinking that someone has stolen my car, but it's a dented Toyota prius, not a hot ticket car. Then I noticed the towing signs in their lot... Clearly they state that the parking is for McDonald's patrons only, exactly where I had been. So thank you McDonald's, thank you so much for turning my cheap soggy fries into a $274 towing bill. Thank you for reminding me yet again that you are easily the worst McDonald's...

Let us all not forget that this McDonalds is MORE EXPENSIVE than any other Mcd in the area for a 5 mile radius. Literally.

Like why come here when the Halsey location 2 minutes up the street has not only

CONSIDERABLY LOWER PRICES ON THE EXACT SAME ITEMS,

BUT SIGNIFICANTLY LESS WAIT TIME .

(if youre lucky enough to not have experienced the proceeding, then congratulations. But please, head this warning: Craving Mcd after 1am?

Go to ANY OTHER LOCATION unless you're prepared to waste the next hour + of your life (not to mention the gas) in the drive thru line waiting for your order.

Delivery driver? This MCD location will metaphorically tell you with a smirk: "Sorry Not Sorry" as they bend you over backwards and spit in your fries. If the lobby is closed, employees will REFUSE to come to the door to hand an order directly to the driver even if you press their doorbell . (an order that let's face it, is most likely already done and ready, bagged up, just sitting on the counter...) Instead requiring you to wait in an hour long drive thru line) Honestly most McDonald's accommodate drivers, but not this one. 👎
