Wahoo's Fish Taco — Restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga

With a name like Wahoo's it's kinda hard to forget this restaurant. And yet somehow (and unintentionally of course) I did. Maybe it's an outta site, outta mind kinda thing (there are tons of them in the OC and near the beach, but very few inland). Recently I came here for dinner, and I forgot how good the food was here. The last time I came here, I had their fish tacos, but they offer so much more. I recently had their banzai burrito with carnitas. It was basically and asian stir fry with bell peppers, onions, zucchini, broccoli, mushrooms and cabbage sauteed with a sweet teriyaki sauce, plus the carnitas, rice, beans and salsa stuffed into a burrito. From the very first bite, it was savory, mouthwatering, and delicious. I did not know this, but Wahoo's is a fast casual fusion restaurant that blends the best of Latin, Brazilian, and asian foods. This place has gone downhill. Went and ordered the Spicy Chicken Burrito, (2) kids quesadillas and the Maui Steak bowl. The Spicy Burrito was disgusting and the spicy level overpowers any taste of chicken or mushroom.

The kids cheese quesadillas tasted freezer burnt. I would wager a decent amount of money they freeze pre-shredded cheese for later usage. We can tell and it tastes awful.

The worst offender of them all was the steak Maui bowl. Large strips of steak, not cut or diced into bite sized portions. Just sloppily placed on top of rice. Bland, fatty and overcooked rice leads to a terrible bowl.

To top off all my frustration and lack of flavor, they place doesn't take Apple Pay or similar. How do you make it in 2024 requiring only debit card or cash?? Even the weed stores have Tap to Pay lol. Absolutely insane.

IDK what it is or what happened here but this place is easily Top 5 worst places I have eaten...

If you've never been to Wahoo's have you been living under a rock or maybe you just don't live around 1 but if you've never been to Wahoo's you have to go to Wahoo's at least once the vibe there is just so laid-back SoCal Beach kind of vibe I love going to Wahoo's spoiler alert not a big fan of seafood by any means I know I'm just not however all the people that I've ever come to Wahoo's with love the fish but if you're not a big seafood fan like myself they have such a good chicken sandwich there it's so fresh the bread is so nice and fresh and it's just so basic but it's so good so if you're not a big fishy fan then you could eat the chicken but yes definitely recommend coming to Wahoo's it's like the in and out for fish tacos maybe that was a weird comparison but it made sense in my head that is all have a...
