The literal worst. This place is a danger to anyone with food allergies.
I don't take giving a poor review lightly, but this really needs to be addressed. One of our party was allergic to shellfish, and we told our server that, first thing. She didn't seem to understand, but she made notes on what needed to come out of the hot pot-basically all the fish things. When we got our dishes, our friend noticed that there was still imitation crab (sometimes contains shrimp so she doesn't chance it), as well as clams! We called our server over and the manager (we think), he apologized and said they'd remake it. The second bowl came out, and looked okay, so she started eating it AND THEN SHE FOUND MORE CLAMS. Friend took Benadryl right away, and was okay, but this is literally a mistake that could kill someone, and they did it TWICE.
No one we interacted with seemed to understand the menu, or whether modifications were possible. Our server definitely had a language barrier, which is dangerous in a restaurant with so many potential allergens.
Soup requested mild came out layered in chili oil, and was far spicier than desired. Sauces at the table are completely mis-labeled. A tiny saucer plate of sweet potato fries was $6.50. And the hibachi plate with steak, shrimp, and vegetables was tiny, and cost $31.
Health department really should...
Read moreOur group ordered the beef hot soup, (mild) sichuan flavor hot soup, (medium) sizzling beef plate, and the hibachi grill combo with filet mingon and lobster. Also, if you come during lunchtime, the lunch specials come with sweetened green and black tea that is very refreshing and fragrant.
Overall, the food was really delicious and Iâve been to Tasty Pot several times. The hot soups are up to par, but only order sichuan if you can take the heat. The sizzling beef plate came with mushroom and black pepper sauce, so it was really flavorful and filling. The only thing we wouldnât order again was the hibachi plate. It was $36 for a small plate of a lobster tail, beef, and vegetables. This also came with miso soup and steamed rice. The beef was overcooked while the vegetables were undercooked, and the miso soup was quite salty. đ
We also loved the overall atmosphere of the restaurant! Itâs very clean, warm, and the music is very lively. Shoutout to the kind and attentive staff, you guys have great dance...
Read moreWe were excited to try this new spot but were rather disappointed. The service was all over the place. We had 4 different servers at variable times , each of them forgetting something. They forgot to bring our green teas, we asked for forks for the kids and that also was forgotten, they brought 2 and 4 year olds their rather tall glasses of ice water instead of kid cups, they werenât knowledgeable about some of the ingredients (such as does beef broth also contain pork). Next, the food itself was insanely salty. The popcorn chicken and the hibachi grills were pure salt. Very unpleasant. The hot pot itself was good after we added garlic and chili sauce, but the ingredients seemed poor quality. Beef was grainy, really cheap tasting. The meatball was like a rubber ball. Also not enough broth for the amount of ingredients in each pot. Lastly, the shrimp tempura was under done as it wasnât quite crispy and still pale in color when served. Bottom line, they have lots of room for...
