Cafe Mekan — Restaurant in Ridgefield

Thanksgiving meal looks different this year for us! We decided to order food delivery for our Thanksgiving Day dinner via Grubhub.

I am beyond impressed with his meal considering the restaurant is about a 10min drive away. Food arrived hot and delivery as so FAST!

I love the ease of being able to just grab a box of food from the delivery guy than to have to fumble with bags while trying to open my door open. This also means there is less of a chance for the food to tip over during delivery.

For those who loves simits, this location makes some of the best sesame ring breads in the area. The shell is crispy and the center is soft and fluffy.

The bean salad is so flavorful and refreshing with the sour lemon juice. The beans were cooked to perfection.

The down side was my fried mackerel and Sigara boregi, because it was starting to get soggy from the steam.

Note to restaurant: Please cut some holes on the plastic lid to allow the steam to escape.

Overall, the food is fantastic! And I know exactly what I’ll be ordering...

I'm a lover of Turkish cuisine, and always like to find new places that serve Turkish cuisine; and Cafe Mekan is a 5 star hit, with a simple, casual, and inviting atmosphere.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, great corner location on Bergen Blvd with its own parking, and the menu is full of Turkish delicacies that will leave you wanting more and more.

We tried the Sarma which is served hot (most places serve it cold) - and it was very flavorful and delicious. Lachmacun was absolutely perfect - hot, crispy, perfectly seasoned and light. Chicken Kebab with rice and salad was also tender, juicy, and very flavorful.

Dessert was Turkish Coffee, Eclairs - and a super creamy, perfectly sweet, vanilla-ish Rice Pudding (which was perfection to my taste buds).

Prices are EXCELLENT - and overall it was an experience that I will be sure to have again in the very near...

I would've given this place 5 stars because I enjoyed the food. BUT what I cannot stand is RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I placed an order through Uber Eats and once I got my food I noticed that the fries were missing. It says in the description of the sandwich that I ordered that "crispy fries" are included. I called them up and I was like hey I didn't get fries with my sandwich. The dude was quiet for a few minutes so I repeated myself and then he just simply hung up. The food was good but I won't be ordering again because of the service.

Just want to state: my anger isn't because of the missing fries... it's because of the rude customer service.

If you don't like communicating with other humans, you shouldn't be working in a customer service...
