Jilberto's is down the street from UCR and when my son would come home from college he would talk about how good the carne asada fries were and how I had to try them. Although they never seem to make a trip home when he would visit.
Since I was in the area, I decided to stop by and get an order to take home for him. I was hungry and ordered the carne asada mini tacos for me to eat there. I initially forgot to order the tacos minus the onion and tomato and when I remembered to tell the lady she made an unpleased face. Other than that little unpleasantness, she was nice.
The place had a nice flow of people coming in and out. There's about 30 seats to dine in, as well as, additiinal outside seating.
The mini tacos with guacamole and hot salsa were tasty and I have to admit I ate some of the carne asada fries. I HAAAD to because as I sat there eating my tacos everyone with the exception of one ordered the carne asada fries. So I'm guessing they've got to be really good, I took a peek into the box and how could I not try them, they're sitting right there staring me in my face, saying eat me!! And ayi-yi-yi they were super good. I would even say well worth the drive if you're craving really good carne asada fries.
Due to bank charges for credit card transactions, they do prefer you pay cash if you can, if not they'll still take your credit...

Sooo my husband orders some carne asada fries with chicken 😁 brought those bad boys home and I was ready to dig in!!! Ok..... Soooo I want you to imagine McDonald's or any other fast food place that has those awesome fries that you love. Ok..... Now imagine that they cooked them in old burnt oil!! Yes, that is exactly what happened to the food. Not only that but it didn't have any substance this time around. I don't know if they changed the way they do them now or what but all in all it was really disgusting. So, I let my sister try them to see what she thought before I called to let them know about the food, and she said the exact same thing. With that I gave them a call told the lady who answered what I just told you guys she puts me on hold to let her supervisor know comes back and GUESS WHAT!!!!!!! THEY SAID THERE ARE NO REFUNDS!!! TF SO I JUST WASTED $10 bucks On some NASTY food that I can't get my money back or get an exchange, who does that!!! Well that was my rant all I can say is if you don't like the food don't bother calling if you don't wanna run the risk of wasting your money...

Made an online inquiry using their contact method listed on their website for two orders of their 20 taco catering tray. A few hours went by but I never got a response. I then called to make the order through telephone, however I was told it was not possible unless I made the order in person. I don't live in Riverside, but my Company picnic was going to be in Riverside the next day. However, they were not willing to accommodate me making a same day morning order, since that's the same day I'd be in Riverside, nor was I offered to make payment via telephone the day prior. I was never rude, I purposely made my voice to sound in confusion with pauses in between sentences to give them a chance to critically think of way to fulfill my order. Instead, I was merely told "sorry." Crazy to me how fast food/small chain businesses are hurting everywhere, yet are willing to not make simple accommodations for customers and are now missing out on a $100 order with several more $100 orders right...
