Tldr: food not that great but wait staff even worse

My wife and I like to try new restaurants when we visit the surrounding towns. Today we stopped at The Landings for lunch. They were not overly busy and we asked to be seated on the deck. Waitress seemed pleasant and took our drink order then returned for lunch order. I ordered the Cowboy burger but asked for no lettuce or tomato and cooked medium. Wife asked for the vegan burger. After at least 30 minutes after our order was taken, waitress came by and apologized for it taking so long. I replied "no problem" I also make it a point to respond with "yes please, no thank you or no, but thank you for asking" when talking to wait staff. Another 30 minutes at least rolls by and a different person (owner or manager) stops by to say our order never made it to the kitchen as they had a printer issue, but its in now. And they comp'd my wifes fountain drink (thats costs what, maybe 50 cents to the restaurant??). After waiting another 30 minutes the food comes out. My burger was med rare and had lettuce. Wifes vegan burger had two extremely small pieces of bread as the bun. She politely asked for a full size bun. After we finished, the waitress came by and cleared the table but then didnt come back to ask if we wanted dessert or our check. After yet another 20 mins my wife finally asks anither waitress if we can get our check as its been ridiculous waiting for our waitress. She finally brings it. I leave her a 10% tip based on her not following up on our order and having to ask for the check. After walking out if the restaurant. The waitress has the audacity to follow us out, check in had and say while our food was late, she worked really hard and we were very rude and to not return to the restaurant. I told her it wasnt a problem ascwe had no intention of ever returning anyway.we were nothing but polite while waiting on our food and check. Waitress didn't "work hard" as she should have been asking the kichen where her tables order was. And more prompt in bringing the check. She was just pissed I left her a 10% tip.she didnt really deserve that much. Stay away from this restaurant. Much better places with way better food and service elsewhere in town

Further edit concerning response from server: I stand by my comments. Evidently gone are the days of quality customer service. I tried to be very nice to the server but her lack of followup with the kitchen staff on why our tables order was late, and not coming back after clearing plates to ask if we wanted anything else or our check to the point we had to ask is unacceptable. I generally leave 20-25% tips so leaving a 10% tip was done to specifically send a message. If it wasnt about the tip then why did the server wait to say something until after the tip was left and we were already out of the restaurant? Read previous reviews. Servers with attitudes seems to be the norm here. ...

You know when you're starving and pretty much anything tastes good? Well even starving this place was not great, so thank gosh I was starving. Everything is way overpriced, and when I speak prices, I don't mean that I wasn't expecting to pay those prices. I mean that the product and service do not match the prices being charged. The food is bland and either pre-made or frozen and very small portions. The swordfish plate was laughable.Possibly because they are near the ocean, although in an industrial area, the lobster could (or could not) be fresh? I felt ill for the rest of the night after eating the sad swordfish dish. After reading reviews, it looks like several people got food poisoning here. I should have read the reviews before I went and I would have taken the extra 15 minutes it would take me to get to Rockport , stopped to buy a sundress, and gone to our favorite restaurant there. The Landing is very very casual dining BTY. The inside of the restaurant felt cluttered , dirty, and stuffy so we opted for outside seating and hoped for the best. Darlene was our waitress. She didn't seem interested in providing an excellent experience. She actually made us uncomfortable, like she was annoyed or thought she was better than us 😆 . I was impressed by the runner/busboy. I've noticed that whoever is monitoring this page seems to be rude and not willing to accept criticism. Interested to see how they respond to this review. They obviously cannot take criticism well and aren't willing to change. Embarrassing for Maine. Go to Ports of...

Arrived on a Thursday around 7pm Party of five not very busy but waited quite a while to be seated because outside table needed to be cleaned. Several different members of the staff made sure we had been taken care of, off to a great start. Nice view of harbor, menu was a bit limited but we were here for seafood so that wasn't an issue. Waitress quickly took our order and talked me into a 2lb lobster instead of the twins. After 20 minutes of waiting for them to find me the biggest lobster they up sold me on we were informed our order was under way and our food would arrive shortly. 15 Minutes later we were given some bread to hold us over. 20 minutes after that our food arrived my lobster was not 2lbs it was just a standard 1lb chicken as they call them. I was informed I wouldn't be charged the 30 dollars because they couldn't find one that big. I was still charged 25.00 for a lobster I did not want that had a rubber like shell and was by far the worst lobster any of us had during our week long visit to Maine. For the money which was a lot, and for the service, which was pretty poor for how busy they were and for the quality of the food I would not recommend this place with the exception of the Chocolate Cake which...

They have a whole separate outdoor patio Had lunch here today and it was really good! I ordered Haddock and chips! Yum! Coleslaw was so very tasty! Husband had crab cakes and also really enjoyed them! We are travelling with our two dogs and someone had told us about this place and the fact that it is doggie friendly. They have a whole separate outdoor covered patio for you and your pooches. It was perfect. Our server was a sweetheart. We felt very comfortable being there. They have dog bowls outside with water. And you overlook the water. What more could you ask for?? Thanks for a wonderful lunch experience!! Highly recommend!! Luna and Koda do also!!

We were pretty impressed when we first walked in opted for the outdoor seating, mentioned that it might be cool and were handed a couple of blankets. The waitress was nice but it seems they were understaffed for a holiday weekend. The chowder was good but small portion even for a cup. The house salad was basically greens with a bit of roasted corn. We waited about 45 minutes from ordering to getting the food. That seemed a bit long for two salads and chowder but maybe it just happened to be the evening? I’ll let you make your own opinion up on the prices based on the photos.
