Panida Thai & Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Rockville

I love Sushi!!! I have been known to order well over 80 dollars worth in a sitting. But I will not be taking my business back here. I just ordered my lunch and I had two rolls, one of which was an avocado roll and I was informed that I couldn't this roll because they don't have enough ripe avocados on hand. Instead of offering me a discount on another roll I was told sorry. I then looked at the menu and how many items that were avocado based and told the man behind the counter that they should put a sign up to let people know that before they come in to order. The young man behind the counter informed me that "Sorry there's nothing we can do about that." This made me upset because I could have gone somewhere else to get my lunch if i had known that i wouldn't be able to order as i wanted. The staff were then rude to me and smiled at my annoyance. The service is very fast and friendly. That's the good thing about this place. And perhaps if we stuck to Thai food it would have been good, but the Japanese food quality here was quite poor. Had scallop sashimi and it wasn't really sashimi as it was seared / cooked with a torch. I don't know if it was to hide something or not. The sashimi platter was standard and the one roll we had was adequate, but nothing worth coming back for. The takoyaki was just okay with very little bonito. My son had the Panang Curry which he said was too, so perhaps the Thai food is worth something here. We were sadly disappointed by our delivery order from Panida. Our curry arrived cold, and the drunken noodle was barely luke warm.

Portion sizes for the price ($16 Curry and $13 Noodle) were small and inadequate; we will not order delivery from here again.

Once we heated both meals, the flavor was good. Beef Panang curry was a flavorful and the better of the two meals. Drunken noodle was too oily and the chicken was a poor cut/tough. Two petite sized containers of rice stirred a laugh, sadly the rice was overcooked.
