Soulfull Cafe — Restaurant in Rockville

Last week I ordered a breakfast sandwich on a bagel and a brownie. The sandwich was pretty good. The brownie was dry and not very tasty.

Price was fair. Bownie and a bagel sandwich were $10.

The woman behind the register had no clue what she was doing. It must have been her first week. It did not seem as if she had any training. It took almost ten minutes for a breakfast sandwich. I was the only patron. She was totally unfriendly, too.

Zero ambiance or 'soul.' I don't remember any music. While there is TONS of natural light from the huge windows, the overall vibe was just meh. It felt more like a cafeteria.

Additionally, being in downtown Rockville next to the courts and Metro, you'd expect them to be open much earlier.

The whole experience was one I'm not thrilled about, but I might give them another chance, especially if the owner addresses this review (reading other reviews, it doesn't seem like they've responded to any reviews since...

I placed an order online and when I arrived to an empty store and asked for my order. The man behind the counter asks the woman if there was an order placed and apparently she forgot it because I watch her rush back over to a counter where my order slip was sitting. Fine I had to wait an additional 5 minutes for a smoothie. The almond smoothie was horrible. The almonds weren’t even crushed up. With the very small stare they provided it would have taken an hour to drink. I had to get another straw and basically chew my smoothie: the place looks nice and I think I am willing to give them another shot and try a sandwich but I will never buy...

Bright and cheery aesthetic. I was promptly greeted and served efficiently by friendly staff.

The latte (my safe choice when trying a new cafe) was enjoyable enough after I added sugar, but it was so weak in flavor it was more like a hot flavored milk. The cinnamon swirl looked good, but even having eaten nothing all day it tasted mediocre at best.

On the whole, disappointing. It does seem like it would be convenient for the many people living right nearby and and hey, it's better than McCafe, but I'll be continuing my search for great coffee in the area!
