This place was understaffed when my friends and I got there. Granted it was 7:10 and they closed at 8:00, but there were 6 tables there when we arrived and we had to wait a WHILE before anyone who worked there would even speak to us (they saw us walk in, but didn't say anything).
Since we had already eaten dinner, we came for the pie/dessert, so when we were finally greeted, we mentioned our intent. The manager seemed annoyed that we were not eating "regular" food, so she threw the menus back down, crossed her arms and said "are you wanting to eat your dessert here or are you going to leave with it"? This was BEFORE we knew what desserts were served there and everything. The managers attitude was just off and maybe it was because she was having a bad day or something but I was not interested in her mood in the slightest. I can sympathize up to a point, but she was simply colder than dry ice and she treated us as such.
Moving on, she finally showed us to a table after we requested to eat here and she told us what pies were left. I ordered a french silk (chocolate creme based pie) and my friend wanted a warmed up fruit pie. She doesn't like apples so her only option was the cherry or SUGAR FREE wild berry. Upon hearing the wild berry was sugar free, she chose the cherry warmed up with a scoop of ice-cream in top and a glass of milk. Tell me why the manager sent the server out to take our order again and then send it our WRONG! My friend said she did NOT want a sugar free pie and that's the one she got that was NOT warmed up. My pie was what I ordered, it was just gross. The chocolate creme filling was thick and lumpy almost as if it were chocolate mousse instead. The whipped cream was made with regular sugar instead of confectioner's sugar and that's why it tasted bland and honestly buttery or greasy.
When my friend asked for the pie to be corrected the server told the manager, who was in the back, and she replied loud enough for us to hear. "And she doesn't want it, right? Well I guess I'll make it my meal instead of wasting it"! Um... My friend ate off of it, but whatever makes you feel better I suppose. And why were you yelling about a mistake YOU made?! My friend didn't want a sugar free pie. You served her one anyway. She asked to get the right pie that she ordered. She wasn't rude, aggressive or sarcastic, so why all the attitude.
So, to sum everything up. The food was bad. The service was bad. The manager was rude. The atmosphere was cold and unflattering. In the end, it was just a bad experience and I will not be returning in the...
Read moreWe were just there last night and it was unfortunate because there aren’t a lot of Perkins around where we are from so we were excited to go. When we walked in at 8:30 we were told they were closing at 9. So we asked if it was enough time to still order and get our food. We were told yes (as another group was seated seconds before us). After we sat down it took about 10 minutes or so for them to take our order and only 2 people were working in front of which only 1 girl was really serving the tables and she seemed disappointed there were now (4 tables that didn’t have food at this time). Honestly no more tables should have been allowed in. Finally our order was taken. At 8:50 our food came but my order was never put in. Our waitress came over and told me and essentially looked and asked to see what I wanted to do about it. :( It was a long day, we had been traveling this why we were there late. I knew she was in a hurry to close and now she seemed frustrated at us because it was one more order she would have to put I . So I opted to not have my order. Note: there was one more table who didn’t have their food and they were told they could stay open until 9:30 for them, but it was getting stressful as food wasn’t coming for people. Just not the experience we expected. It was our choice to stay but the one we do have left in Wisconsin is very efficiently run and they are quick with food. So we did assume when they sat us the food and service would be enough time. On a positive note (always should end well, the restaurant was very clean and the gentleman working didn’t show any frustration or disappointment with additional guests still being in the building that himself and the other woman...
Read more2/24/21 between 6pm and 8pm. Ok so this place used to be the spot my grandma would take my brothers and I for brunch when we were kids.. Well she recently passed away so my mom thought itd be a great idea to go in her honor. Let me just say this place was THE WORST restaurant experience ive EVER had. Aside from only seeing the waitress once or twice.. We waited aprox 45 minutes for our appetizers, which in that time we ordered our dinner, proceeded to wait ANOTHER 45 minutes to receive, just to get it COLD. Not to mention the attitude the guy had when we mentioned my little brothers soup missing, and my fruit. Now I had the Chicken Broccoli Pasta. The noodles and vegetables were cold almost frozen while the chicken was warm. My mother had the Chicken and Biscuits which she said was barely warm. My little brother had the Decker Sandwich, and it was cold when it was suppose to be at least a little warm considering the toast. We decided that we weren't going to eat here that we'd pay for the drinks, that we never got refills on like asked, and the appetizer we ate.. At this point im furious. The manager proceeds to offer to "warm up the pasta in the microwave". Which to me was just a slap to the face. I ended up walking out and my mom stayed to handle the bill. They proceeded to charge her FULL PRICE not even offering some kind of compensation for anything. $60 down the drain. Lets just say I will be contacting the owner in the morning and we will NEVER eat here again. Thank you for ruining the good memories I have...
