This was our first time going to Roswell. We stopped here on a road trip from TX. We were debating this location or Farleys bar and grill but the bad reviews on Farley made the choice easy. We came unknowingly during happy hour. This allowed for us to enjoy self serve popcorn and chips/salsa along with a few other items as well. That was pretty awesome. The server was real friendly and helpful and we enjoyed her laid back casual attitude. I started with a blue moon and the wife had a house margarita. The margarita according to my wife was wonderful. I also ordered cheese sticks. One thing you have to understand is I order cheese sticks almost anywhere that will give them to me lol. So when i see them as an option I don't read the description. When they came it only had ranch or a blue cheese dressing. So i inquired for Marinara sauce. The waitress said they had none. :/ Really? Must be a NM thing as i have never been served cheese sticks without Marinara sauce. So we at them dry. The the food came. Enchiladas for me and a salad for the wife. The ingredients inside the enchiladas were good but the red sauce was not good at all. I think we are spoiled with our south Texas Mexican food. I love good heat on my food but this was heat not brought on by a delicate mixture of peppers onions etc but like Tabasco sauce or similar. It was hard to really enjoy the plate. The tortillas are store bought in my opinion but again, just used to them being made in house. Rice was OK. Wife liked the salad but wished she has got fajitas instead. Sauce was too odd. Overall OK but if we come back through will try grill items next time...
Read moreCame here for Mexican food and was very disappointed. This was an attempt at tex mex, an odd fusion of flavors that try’s hard to mimic Mexican food while also adding in new ingredients and whatnot, but it tastes terrible. The chips and salsa were self serve. The chips were out in the open in a huge bowl right next to all of the server items like silverware, check books, and napkins. We didn’t like this at all, didn’t seem sanitary, and didn’t go back for more considering the chips were cold and stale. We got the Enchilada Nachos, Southwest Chimichanga, and Double Barrel Burrito. We didn’t finish any of it. The nachos were cold when they came out and the hot sauce was dumped everywhere which overpowered every other ingredient. The entrees were like I mentioned, just odd. The flavors were trying to be something they weren’t and were not appetizing. The service was even worse. The server was very unprofessional, unlike the rest of the servers, she wasn’t wearing a Peppers shirt, just a white graphic tee. She probably only came by the table twice before our food came out and the second time, brought an entire pitcher of lemonade with a straw in it because my fiancé had “drunk his lemonade too fast” and she “didn’t want to keep coming out.” We found that very ridiculous and unprofessional. It took forever for her to bring the check and the collect it although we went on a Tuesday night and there was barely anyone there. We have heard good things about their non Mexican food, but this experience ruined Peppers for us and we will not...
Read moreDrove through Roswell on a recent road trip, and one of our troupe had a craving for Frybread tacos. A quick Google search showed Peppers had something in that vein, and happened to be open while we'd be in town.
Unfortunately, not only did the Frybread tacos disappoint, but so did the rest of the food we got (a couple basic cheeseburgers). I was told the dough was pretty flavorless and the consistency was NOT what they were expecting. The rest of the ingredients were also pretty bland, and overall was a big letdown.
The burgers also ranged from blegh to just downright bad. One was pretty much a charred hockey puck with nothing but "burned" as a flavor, and was extremely unappetizing to look at. The other was less charcoal and more appealing looking, but still had a strange taste, and was most likely a low quality pre-formed patty from something like Sysco foods that got thrown on the broiler for too long, with some fake smoke squirted onto it before serving.
The fries, at least, were ok? The waitress was super awesome at least, and we had a fun conversation with her. No issues getting out food ordered or drinks refilled. Prices also seemed pretty fair considering the quantity of food delivered.
We might have just come by at the wrong time, or maybe regulars know what you should really be getting on the menu, as other reviews seem pretty positive. Definitely don't recommend the Frybread tacos or burgers though! Look elsewhere if that's what...
