This place used to be one of the few gems offering a quiet patio, great service, delicious food, and reasonably priced beverages. Unfortunately, it has seen a significant decline in recent times.
At one time, the establishment featured several comfortable outdoor couches, making it a delightful spot to relax outside during the fall and winter months.
During cooler months, it wasn't unusual for us to stop by every Friday or Saturday for a drink and a meal. Unfortunately, as the quality of the food began to decline, our visits became less frequent. Despite the drop in food standards, the servers and bartenders remained consistently excellent, a redeeming factor that shouldn't be overlooked.
On the first truly pleasant cool evening we could enjoy—we decided to revisit our favorite chill spot. Several of the outdoor couches were sadly missing. We managed to find one, but it was infested with bugs resembling fleas (which we realized too late).
The sliders we ordered were very dry and borderline edible. Hungry as we were, and loyal to our spot, we decided to proceed, hoping for the best.
The fish and chips were soggy and greasy, with chips that seemed under-fried and had a parboiled texture. I struggled to eat much of my portion, typically finishing my plate but finding this one to be a sloppy mess. My wife’s "cheesesteak" was equally disappointing—the bottom bun dissolved into the plate, making it impossible to pick up. The meat lacked quality, appearing as beef scraps, and the white cheese slices were only half melted, the whole thing drenched in liquid brown something. It was an absolute mess. At least her fries were cooked.
Adding to the frustration, the drinks were a bit overpriced for what we got. We paid around $20 for a premium Old Fashioned that didn’t reflect its premium label beyond the alcohol used. Slivers of lemon instead of orange...An appetizer, two drinks, and two plates cost us well over $100, which felt unjustifiable given the decline in quality. Then as we were leaving one of the staff was standing out front 3 feet from one of the doors, and next to our car, smoking a cigarette. Glancing down the whole area is covered in cagarette butts making a stinky mess. It seemed a fitting end.
This once beloved neighborhood spot is now charging premium prices while losing its "craftish" charm. The combination of poor food quality, increased noise levels, and high prices has eroded what made it special. Regrettably, we don't think we will be returning until they address...

It was a lazy weekend and my wife didn't feel like making dinner, so we thought we would try something a little different, so we gave The Kenney Fort Pub a try.
As you walk up, the first thing you realize is that the place is huge for a strip mall restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman with an English accent and, even though there were only four of us he offered us his largest booth table out of kindness. Once we were seated, we were introduced to Jacob, a very confident young man who you could tell likes his job.
As an "appetizer" of sorts, we tried the beer flight. It's a beer sampler they serve on what is basically a cutting board with divots carved out to look fancy with the glasses. We've never had that before and we didn't know what beers to get, so Jacob kindly queried our normal beers and based on our answers selected the beers he thought we would like the best. He did a wonderful job because my wife and I enjoyed each and every one.
For our entree, my wife ordered their fish and chips, the kids shared a ten inch personal pizza, and I got the Kenney Fort burger. When the food arrived the first thing you notice is how well done everything looks, and that they don't skimp on the potions. Often, when you buy things off the kids menu the cooks don't seem to care about the quality, usually working out to food that tastes like leather. The pizza, even though it's a kids' meal, looked pretty well prepared. My burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had. It tastes like they cooked it over an open fire, and they're flexible about cooking the burger as you request, as opposed to a corporate chain restaurant. My wife's fish was very moist and flakey. She loved it. The cherry on top was after we were done Jacob told us that the kids' meal came with a scoop of ice cream. Again, the food didn't disappoint. It was a very high quality vanilla which the kids adored.
All in all it was a great experience, and the only reason I wouldn't rate this higher would be due to the small menu and that you can tell they fry the fish in the same oil as the onion rings. Both aren't really a big deal to me but it might matter to others. If I could give this place four and a half stars I would. I would say if you want great beer, service, and food, come on down to The Kenney Fort Pub and have...
Read moreExperience was less than stellar. My father n law and I went for lunch Tuesday. Should have taken the hint when no beer was available. Went downhill from there. Our server took our order, we each ordered two separate orders of the fish n chips. Apparently the gentleman that took our order assumed that two grown men wanted to share a full order of fish n chips. To top that off he threw down the plate between us and claimed that the fillet of cod broke in half while being prepared....ok? He assumed this was ok because we were going to share the order to begin with....as previously mentioned. Fast forward to today. Monday July 5th figured we'd give it a second go (not something i do). The man that helped us the first time noticably avoided even acknowledging our existence waiting for the young lady to eventually take our orders. Went with the entire family today, beer was fine, fish was non exceptional and service pathetic. More than willing to spend my hard earned dollar especially being on vacation, apparently they don't want it. My father n law made a comment something to the extent of "this place is going to hell in a hand basket". I don't imagine this business will be around much longer should the owner not even care to help out his staff and horrendously suffering business. And that's just fine with me I'm more than willing to tip very well as we always do for people that work for it. Good luck sir, I'd imagine you're...
