La Bamba — Restaurant in Salisbury

I was really hungry when I first walked in, like starving and was a bit stressed. The mother greeted me first. She warm and friendly and even motherly to me. Both she and her daughter were so kind. And THEN…. The food was perfect. I got a shrimp taco. It was PERFECT. The atmosphere? They had all the music I’ve e heard through my life playing. On the tv they had different Mexican bands playing. And I saw this one, Yuridia (?) and Aguilar were singing, and an all female Mexican brass band was playing behind them, and it was just magical to see while I munched on the best chips and salsa. I've been here a few times and the food has always been delicious and ther service has always been pleasant, I have no complaints on that front. While waiting for my food in the outdoor area I noticed 2 water turtles and a box turtle living in what looked like a 24'x12' hamster change filled with dirty water and a slab of concrete. I am not sure what the context of this was entirely, so I don't want to make any assumptions, but it was beyond inhumane for both species. Kept like this they with undoubtedly develop skin and other health issues and eventually die. What a great little restaurant! Had lunch with coworkers here. This was my first time eating here. I ordered the beef quesabirria and a mug of horchata. The quesabirria was delicious and came with rice and a broth for dipping or eating with the rice. I also added hot sauce and pico from the topping bar. (The hot sauce is GOOD)! It’s a fair sized serving so I had leftovers for another meal. The horchata was very refreshing and comes in a very large mug - enough to take some in a to go cup!
