Shanghai has ALWAYS been one of my favorite restaurants, ever! I have been eating here for over 12 years and honestly, I have only ever had 1 issue, which was completely my fault.

The food is by far a lot better than any of the other vegetarian Chinese food in SLC. Over the many years I have been eating here, I have taken several friends and family members here; in which they all have loved! Most of the people I have taken here are not vegetarian but try this place because it's my favorite (I eat here about once a week). Almost everyone is willing to try what I am eating and most of them don't even know it's not meat they're eating and that it's TVP/WG.

Everything I have tried here is delicious, I think I have tried just about all of the vegetarian dishes they have. Their soup is the best I have had in the valley, along with their cream cheese wontons. For some reason, all of the other Chinese food restaurants out here add a lot of sugar, because they're too sweet, but not Shang Hai!

Out of the many hundred times I have eaten here, the only mess up I've has was my own doing. I wasn't paying attention and ordered a non-vegetarian dish. However, as soon as I told them what I did, they corrected it, no questions asked and replaced it with what I meant to order.

I can agree that there may be 1 member of staff may not be too outgoing and friendly, however, this does not mean the service is bad, or that this person is mean. I have always had good service at this place! The food always is quick and fresh. The food is well priced, especially for the amount that you get.

I listed the decor as only as good, because it's nothing fancy or over the top. However, I don't come here for the decor, I come for the great food and service! I always recommend this place, if you haven't been here, you should go! :)
