Barrio Dogg

We have been talking about Mexican inspired hot dogs ever since we visited Mazatlan, Mexico and visited Hot Dogs El Charley there. We finally found a spot that can compare to that famous Mazatlan spot in terms of quality dogs with the best toppings (albeit a bit pricey). Tonight we tried the El Xolito which is Barrio Dogg’s signature/original dog. We also ordered an El Bombero because I love spicy and that one Is made with seven distinct chiles. Tip: if you like spicy food don’t miss out on this one - it’s tasty and packed with heat. We also shared some fries to go with our dogs.

The service at Barrio Dogg was friendly and prompt. Parking could be difficult nearby depending on the day but there is limited parking right by the restaurant which is reserved for the restaurant. Cool vibes inside with music playing and low rider decorations everywhere. They have a decent selection of beer on tap as well as regular soft drinks. Again, the only thing we weren’t crazy about was how pricey everything was. We definitely recommend giving it a shot though and will definitely be back the next time we want a tasty Mexican inspired dog.
