Dreamboat is a very nice retro dinner blended with a trendy clean approach. They serve breakfast from 7 am to 11 am, and lunch from 11 am to 3 pm.
For breakfast, I had the breakfast sandwich which came with a savory and delicious breakfast sausage, cheddar cheese, egg omelette, a house Hollandaise sauce on a lightly toasted brioche bun for $12.95.
The breakfast sandwich was very flavorful, especially the sausage patty and the sauce. The sauce was more cheesy than a traditional Hollandaise, but it worked very well here. However, the sandwich was one dimensional with regards to its texture. It was soft all the way through, not that there's anything wrong with that. But for my taste, it could have used a little more texture. Nevertheless, it was a very good breakfast sandwich.
The diner is mostly counter seating with the exception of a few standing tables along the wall. The service was very good. The young lady at the counter was very nice. The breakfast menu is limited at this time, offering the sandwich, the potato latke cakes, baked goods and pastries, and a melee of coffee beverages. I like there small...
Read moreBreakfast is my favorite meal of the day, so I was ecstatic when I heard Dreamboat was opening. They surpassed my high expectations. The breakfast sandwich was the best vegan breakfast sandwich I have ever had. The "egg" patty was reminiscent of a fried egg texture, soft in the middle and a bit crispy on the edges. And paired with the hollandaise, it was an experience I haven't had since before I became vegan. The breakfast patty was delicately sweet to balance out the saltiness of the "egg". It was a smash burger consistency which I also loved. I would go back again and again for the breakfast sandwich alone. I could write a poem about this sandwich.
Their coffee cake was a close second. I am an avid baker, but the moisture of the coffee cake made me pause and almost ask, "Are you sure this is vegan?" Paired with their high quality drip coffee, it was perfect.
The decor is gorgeous. Like 50's diner with the servers wearing cute uniforms. They were friendly and perky for 7am which I appreciated as I am also a morning person.
I cannot wait...
Read morecute concept - food was very mid. we ordered the crispy tofu sandwich, it had no flavor at all - tasted just like a plain bun so i asked for more tartar sauce and had a tartar sauce sammie. we also ordered the cheeseburger, flavorful but dry. 'wavy' fries are just ore-ida crinkle cut, but nice and salty. the coffee shake was pretty good and we liked that its only espresso and ice cream. tbh we wouldnt come back and really came for the potato latka which is only served at breakfast - there are only 3 lunch items and 2 breakfast items so it seems like they could serve breakfast all day without much trouble (vulture uses the same kitchen so maybe an issue later at night). overall surprised at the low quality when compared to their other...
