I was excited and a little apprehensive to go to Jalisco's after their redo by Restaurant Impossible after all this is a South Bay landmark. I was pleasantly surprised by the charm and brightness of the interior. The new chairs are very comfortable and there are still some booths. I also enjoy the fact that they are not blasting music that you have to talk over to be heard. The chips and salsa are still iconic. The menu was easy to understand with reasonable prices. I had a delicious and generous carnitas taco. The negatives by my observation was only one server on duty who was admirably keeping up with ten occupied tables, take out orders and the register. It was apparent that another person on the floor would have been appreciated by everyone. The other negative is the parking. Three cars trying to leave at the same time and one coming in and we had to closely navigate to...

A long-time Friend who actually used to live in CV but moved with her Family up the cosst in High School, came down to visit Me & stayed a few days. She insisted on taking Me to dinner the second night she was here and had a few conditions. The food had to be good, close by & nothing fancy. She also wanted to enjoy a sit down meal that would allow us to take our time & continue with our Marathon "Cathching-Up" Session. A couple of places came to mind but I felt Jalisco Cafe met All her criteria (and mine, too). I have to say the Waitress was Awesome it was the food that prompted Me to only give 3 out of 5 Stars. The Food was basically tasteless. The rice was hard & crunchy. The beans & enchalada had no flavor. It was such a disappointment & I can tell My Friend was...
ย ย ย Read moreService was very slow, and painfully awkward. 2 different servers tried to take our order after someone already had. We were given the wrong drink items to start with, I ordered Coca-Cola and was given Sprite (or equivalent lemon lime pop) wife was given tap water instead of bottled water, not a huge deal, but we were given the food items of the table infront of us. This really upset the other patrons who left in disgust and really got us disappointed. When our correct food arrived it was stone cold. When asked for hot food, it took about 30 minutes and it was obvious that it was microwaved. The 3 servers that talked to us didn't speak Spanish, might be my own idea here, but in a Mexican food restaurant that close to the boarder, shouldn't some atleast speak Spanish?? If you want slow service and microwaved heated food with the wrong...
